Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ Trailer: Teenage Superheroes Whose Parents Are Up To No Good

“They’re teenagers. The last thing they’re interested in is what their parents are doing.” But what do you expect superpowered teenagers to do when their parents are up to no good? Best thing is to probably run away. And that’s what these kids will do in Marvel’s newest show Runaways. This latest series, which will air exclusively on Hulu, will see six teenagers with different powers, uniting to defeat a common foe: their parents.
We’ve seen a couple of photos from the show recently, but now the first trailer has dropped. Check it out here below.

The latest episode of The Vampire Diaries is titled, “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me.” Can I actually NOT end that title with, “Kill Me?†The answer is no. But all you teens will have no idea what I’m talking about. Batman Forever, anyone?! U2?! Ugh, maybe I’m old. Let me know.
ONTO my spoiler-filled recap/review!
Three years from now, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is kidnapped at the very news studio where Caroline (Candice Accola King) used to run the show! Finally, we see it’s Lily (Annie Wersching) who has Damon captive. He apologizes, but…no…it’s not Lily; it’s someone else…

Do people spell “mommy†with an “ie?†The Vampire Diaries does! In Episode 7.7 of the hit CW show, “Mommie Dearest,†the concept of motherhood is further explored. Parenthood has been a growing theme all season and it’s clear that this very human, very soul-felt connection is a complex relationship that can often be both predictable and surprising.
Today, I’m going to take a look at the storylines of TVD 7.7 with a focus on our resident TVD mothers, Caroline (Candice Accola King), Lily (Annie Wersching), and Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore). With my weekly SPOILERS AHEAD WARNING, onward we go.

Children. This episode is all about children. HERE’S YOUR CHANCE; IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE VAMPIRE DIARIES EPISODE 7.6 “Best Served Cold,†READ NO FURTHER!
But yeah. Lily’s (Annie Wersching) children (of all varieties). Alaric’s (Matthew Davis) children. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Valerie’s (Elizabeth Blackmore) child. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) fantasy child. Caroline’s (Candice Accola King) fateful baby transference situation. More on that later.
As usual, an opening scene unfolds of three years from now. Children’s drawings are shown on Alaric’s fridge and Damon is grilling Alaric about the whereabouts of his fiancée. When we see a bloodied Caroline on the news broadcast saying she has “an urgent message for Stefan Salvatore,†it all clicks. Alaric is engaged to Caroline. WHAT?! This feels so beyond creepy to me. The writers are just messing with us!

Hi friends. I, like many of you, have finally settled down for the evening and curled myself on the couch with a nice glass of wine to watch my weekly indulgence, The Vampire Diaries. Sweet relief. Forget about your day, your responsibilities, your stresses, and enter the world of Mystic Falls.
As always, SPOILERS AHEAD for The Vampire Diaries 7.5: “Live Through This”
Three years from now, we see Bonnie (Kat Graham) in a support group within a rehab facility. We aren’t told what put her in there, but I am willing to bet it’s alcohol. They’ve been setting that up ever since she was alone in the prison world. She definitely has a drinking problem. She reveals the theme of the episode when she says to her group leader, “I’ve been thinking about the past and how one stupid decision can†ruin your life, and then, “I made a mistake and lost someone I loved and I would do anything to take it back, but I can’t. All I can do is try and find a way to live with it.†Who did she lose?! Did she lose them to death, or perhaps they just lost their soul? Damon does seem pretty evil in the future.

TV Review: The Vampire Diaries 7.4 “I Carry Your Heart With Me”

The Vampire Diaries
Season 7 Episode 4: “I Carry Your Heart With Me”
Directed by Jeffrey Hunt
Written by Neil Reynolds
Created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec
Starring Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig, Matthew Davis, Michael Malarkey, Annie Wersching, Elizabeth Blackmore, Tim Kang, Scarlett Byrne, Teressa Liane
The CW
Air Date: Thursday, October 29, 2015, 8pm
Warning: This is a recap of The Vampire Diaries 7.4, “I Carry Your Heart With Me,†so SPOILERS…
The Vampire Diaries Episode 7.4, “I Carry Your Heart With Me,†has a metaphorical and a literal meaning. My first thought was a very romantic one, of the poem by e.e. cummings, which was actually read on my wedding day. Then, throughout the episode, I saw different iterations of this sentiment: although Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola King) can’t touch, their hearts are connected; Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) are separated by death but united by love; same for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev). But let’s not forget Oscar (Tim Kang): his actual heart was ripped out! And nobody’s carrying his heart, but he’s still alive. It’s so…heartwarming (I know, I might have overdone it there).

Interview: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Michael Malarkey

Michael Malarkey is a busy man. Whether he is tirelessly writing and recording music (his independent EP, Knots, will be released November 20th), portraying the mysterious Enzo on the CW’s hit show, The Vampire Diaries (TVD), or on daddy duty with son, Marlon, Malarkey finds a way to balance it all. Moreover, he does it with a smile on his face.
Malarkey took some time to talk with Geeks of Doom in an exclusive interview this week, and he opened up about his personal projects while also giving us Vampire Diaries fans some clues into what we can expect for the rest of season seven.

Warning: This is a recap of Vampire Diaries 7.3 “Age of Innocence,†so SPOILERS…
Stefan (Paul Wesley) in the future is so mysterious. He’s on a mission. He wants to get in touch with Caroline (Candice Accola King), but it’s cool. He calls Tyler (Michael Trevino) to ask him to contact Caroline. His scar is opening up and he doesn’t “have much time.†But, whatever. Tyler says he should be running, but he casually walks over to his beautiful car, saves his diary at the last minute because he’s so damn sentimental, and drops a lighter in the trunk. BOOM, it explodes right behind him as he walks towards the camera. But he doesn’t look back. He’s Stefan Salvatore.

The Vampire Diaries
Season 7 Episode 2: “Never Let Me Go”

We ended last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries with an abandoned Mystic Falls, and a fragile-verging-upon-broken truce between our protagonists and the Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching) led Heretics. I say “fragile†because towards the end of the premiere, besties Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) make it clear that they want a war when they kill one of Lily’s “family†members, Malcolm (Justice Leak). Oh, and Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) bad, or at least siding with Lily (for now); Caroline (Candice Accola) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) are finally lovers; Matt (Zach Roerig) is disillusioned, and everything is actually kind of okay without Elena (Nina Dobrev).
Spoilers ahead for The Vampire Diaries Episode 7.2, “Never Let Me Go.â€
