| ‘Power Rangers’ Testing AnnaSophia Robb and Other Young Talent For Hero Roles
It has been slow-going, but Lionsgate is finally getting ready to cast Power Rangers. This past summer, a character description list revealed that the team would be comprised of Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini, and Kimberly – these are the names of the five who would become the first power rangers. As a director Kevin Smith has distanced himself from the comedy movies he’s best known for, and has instead embraced much smaller budget independent projects as of late. After his first indie effort, the very un-Smith-like horror flick Red State, he took some time off from features to focus on various other things he has going on. But lately he’s been quite busy. Smith just finished a second indie horror titled Tusk, which is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and he’s already moving into his next movie, titled Yoga Hosers. Now comes word that Johnny Depp will be appearing in the movie, which stars his daughter Lily-Rose Depp and Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn Smith.
