Crazy Rich Asians

As soon as Jon M. Chu is done working on his adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights, he will move back to working on China Rich Girlfriend, the sequel to Crazy Rich Asians.

Unfortunately, he will have to do it without Crazy Rich Asians screenwriter Adele Lim, who has left the sequel due to the pay disparity that Warner Bros offered. According to reports, her co-writer Peter Chiarelli was offered $800,000 to $1 million, while Lim was only offered $110,000-plus. More on the report below.

Y: The Last Man Vertigo

A little over a year ago it was reported that the long in development movie based on Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra‘s comic book series Y: The Last Man was no more, and that it was instead being developed as a TV series for FX.

The adaptation is still in development today, but has now taken a big step toward becoming a reality. It’s being reported that Michael Green has signed on to be the series’ showrunner. Green is already currently the showrunner of another highly anticipated TV series, Starz’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods along with co-showrunner Bryan Fuller. Fuller also took on a second showrunner job, the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery TV series, but departed that project last month.

Y: The Last Man Image

A movie adaptation of writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Pia Guerra‘s extraordinary comic book series Y: The Last Man has been in the works for many years now, but it never felt right. If you were among those who wished with crossed fingers that Y: The Last Man would not work out as a movie and would one day end up being turned into a TV series, it appears that your wishes are coming true. It’s being reported that the comic is now being developed as a series at FX.
