| New Showrunner Hired For ‘Y: The Last Man’ TV Series
Back in April we found out that the latest attempt to adapt Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra‘s comic book classic Y: The Last Man, a TV series set up at FX going simply by the title Y, had lost showrunners Michael Green (American Gods, Logan) and Aïda Mashaka Croal (Luke Cage, Jessica Jones) after years of developing the series, putting together a cast, and even filming a pilot episode. But while FX had made the decision to not move forward with Green and Croal’s take on the story “in its current form,” it was made clear that they would be searching for a replacement and the show would go on. Now that replacement has been found, as Eliza Clark has been hired to take over showrunner duties.

| ‘Y: The Last Man’ TV Series Loses Its Showrunners
It looked like the latest in a long line of attempts to adapt Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra‘s classic comic Y: The Last Man, a TV series set up at FX which is going by the title Y, was going to be the one to finally break free and become a reality. And it still might, when all is said and done. But another speedbump has been hit, and it’s a fairly significant one. After years of working on the show, which FX ordered to series back in February, showrunners Michael Green (American Gods, Logan) and Aïda Mashaka Croal (Luke Cage, Jessica Jones) have announced that they are departing the project.

| ‘Y: The Last Man’ TV Series Being Developed By FX
A movie adaptation of writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Pia Guerra‘s extraordinary comic book series Y: The Last Man has been in the works for many years now, but it never felt right. The series ran 60 issues, and there was far too much great content to fit into a movie. Even a trilogy of movies would have been difficult. On top of that many believed the movie would have to be R-rated, and that was something the movie studio wasn’t very likely to do. No, this was something that belonged on TV somewhere with few rules and restrictions such as HBO. If you were among those who wished with crossed fingers that Y: The Last Man would not work out as a movie and would one day end up being turned into a TV series, it appears that your wishes are coming true. It’s being reported that the comic is now being developed as a series at FX.
