Warner Bros. has just released the first trailer for Cathy Yan‘s Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) – yes, that’s the actual title.
The film will see the return of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, who has to join forces with the other dames of Gotham City to protect Cassandra Cain, a young girl, who comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord Black Mask. Check out the full trailer below.

Production has just wrapped for Birds Of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) – yes, that’s the actual title of the film starring Margot Robbie, who is reprising her DC Expanded Universe role as Harley Quinn. Last week, it was reported that Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and more were testing for a variety of roles in Cathy Yan‘s Birds of Prey. The film is a DC spinoff centering on some of the comic’s greatest female superheroes. And according to those same reports, WB wanted to bring diversity to the film. Warner Bros. has made some excellent progress when it comes to adding diversity in their DC films. They were among the first to have a solo female superhero film to be directed by a female director. And now they’ve taken another huge step with Birds Of Prey, an all-female DC superhero ensemble. Directed by Cathy Yan, the film will see Margot Robbie reprising her DCEU role as Harley Quinn, who will be joined by DC characters Black Canary, Huntress, Cassandra Cain, and Renee Montoya in a fight to defend Gotham City against one of Batman’s most notable villains, Black Mask.
