Cosmopolis

Now that The Twilight Saga is finally almost over (for now, anyway), what’s the fastest way for an actor to extract himself from the sewage-coated shadow of those awful movies?

Well…by doing a David Cronenberg film next, of course.

Twilight star Robert Pattinson is appearing in Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis next, and judging by the very brief and twisted new teaser trailer, it will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen from the actor before.

You can check out the trailer by heading below now. Be warned: though only 30 seconds in length, some images may be considered NSFW.

But while discussing the rumor that he was possibly writing and directing a reboot of The Fly, the 1958 sci-fi horror film he successfully remade in 1986 with Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis in the leads, Cronenberg dropped an interesting little nugget about his involvement with that project.

Eastern Promises

It was almost a year ago that we found out that David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen were hoping to make a sequel to Eastern Promises — their gritty Russian crime movie that was released in 2007.

As it turns out, this was not an early April Fools joke and some more good news is here. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that producer Paul Webster is helping to bring the Focus Features sequel along, and that all parties hope to begin filming next winter based on the script from Steven Knight.
