| Wes Anderson Wants To See Johnny Depp, Angela Lansbury & More In His Next Film
Wes Anderson films are great. They feature an ensemble cast that come together for a wonderful film with indie flair. Now with the continuing success of Moonrise Kingdom, Anderson is ready to direct his following film, which has yet to receive a title. According to sources, Anderson is looking to cast his favorite actors Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Willem DaFoe, Jeff Goldblum, Adrian Brody, and Edward Norton. In addition to his favorite actors, he is also looking to cast Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Angela Lansbury. Quite a collection of names and if everything ends up going according to plan, then this film should be quite the looker.

| Moonrise Kingdom: The Wes Anderson Effect |
 |

Here’s the thing… I like Wes Anderson, I really do. I think he’s an extremely talented, quirky fellow who makes entertaining, gorgeous cinematic experiences. Unfortunately, I have this sneaking suspicion that instead of being the next Scorsese or Coppola, Anderson could easily become the next Tim Burton – or the hipster, Instagram version of Zack Snyder. I know, I know – blasphemy, right? Before you set fire to your vintage collection of Kinks records and hurl Criterion Collection DVDs of Rushmore and Bottle Rocket at my face, understand that I enjoy Anderson’s entire filmography (including that brilliant American Express commercial). All I’m saying is, the guy has been constantly criticized for putting style over substance and maybe it’s time we all admit that there’s some truth to that. I loved Moonrise Kingdom. I think it’s one of the best films of the year – but, at the same time, I experienced a bit of deja vu – like I had seen this movie before. And then I realized I had. I saw it in 2009 when it was called The Fantastic Mr. Fox and before that when it was called The Darjeeling Limited, and so on and so forth.

Moonrise Kingdom
Directed by Wes Anderson
Starring Jared Gilman, Kara Hayward, Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, Bob Balaban and Harvey Keitel
Release Date: May 16, 2012
French New Wave director Jean-Luc Godard, a powerful influence in cinema and pop culture from the 1960s onward thanks to his radical films, depicted in some of his films the need for the adolescent or youth to maintain their autonomy in the process of society attempting to crush it and mold it for their own purposes. This is pure literary, but in cinema the right director can demonstrate explicitly the harsh tendencies of society. In his newest film, Moonrise Kingdom, director Wes Anderson, with a script he co-wrote with Roman Coppola, is approaching that topic Godard had always wrestled with, and still is today. It is not easy to do, but with Anderson’s whimsy and vigorous style of direction, unerring in its constant infatuation with capturing perfection, we are able to witness two adolescents restlessly in love in a perfectly concocted world endure an environment that is stifling and stunting their growth.

| ‘The Bourne Legacy’ Trailer: More Questions, Fewer Answers, Thrilling Action
The Bourne franchise proves that no matter how many movies or entries there are, you will only know less than half of the real story. A new trailer has emerged for The Bourne Legacy, and it gives a clearer picture of the characters surrounding the very people involved in the project that made Bourne the dangerous amnesia spy that he is (or was) today. You can check out the trailer below. Jeremy Renner takes the main character mantle as he begins to be caught up in the conspiracy involving the people behind the Tredstone project. Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach, and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn, and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

| ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ Cast Praises Wes Anderson’s Genius In New Featurette
Focus Features has released a three-minute behind the scenes featurette for Wes Anderson‘s upcoming romantic comedy Moonrise Kingdom. Though the film focuses on the runaway romance between two children, the featurette focuses mostly on the film’s adult cast: Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, and Jason Schwartzman. In the video they talk about their experiences working on the set of Moonrise Kingdom and about Anderson’s directing style. You get to see what it was like on the set of the film. The gorgeous simplicity of the set pieces and the beautiful locations that Anderson chose is exactly why Moonrise Kingdom is one of my top ten highly anticipated films of 2012.
