Supernatural Season 10 Poster

Created by Eric Kripke
Directed by John F. Showalter
Starring Jensen Ackles, Jared Padelecki, Misha Collins, and Mark Sheppard
The CW
Air Date: Wednesday, March 25th, 2015, 9:00pm

Last week on Supernatural 10.15 “The Things They Carried”, Sam and Dean (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) investigated a parasite that caused its victim to be so thirsty, gallons and gallons of water weren’t enough, so it had to resort to blood. Cole (I-made-it-my-life’s-mission-to-kill-Dean-Winchester) returned to help the boys since the infected was a pal.

The brothers are just trying to think job to job…well Dean is anyway. He’s trying to find a way to live with the Mark of Cain, to not think about what it means for his future. It’s Sam’s turn to worry and research, and no matter how much Dean tells him to forget about it, Sam can’t stop. He never could. If it was Sam with the mark, Dean and all of us know, he’d be fighting the same fight.

Supernatural Season 10

Supernatural

All my shows are back! Spoilers!

Supernatural returns, last leaving us in February with Dean (Jensen Ackles) asking Sam (Jared Padelecki) to leave the Mark of Cain obsession alone. You know how these brothers are with each other. That never happens. Truthfully, Cain (Timothy Omundson) was perfectly dandy until the Winchesters showed up. I know we haven’t seen him since then, but he did kinda flip his lid without it, to his detriment. So what does that say? Maybe Sam should just try to put it from his mind. Maybe Dean would go crazy (more crazy) too if he rids himself of the mark. I always like when Supernatural uses Sam and Dean to parallel other theology/mythology, like when Dean was destined to be Michael and Sam was destined to be Lucifer. That didn’t quite go exactly as we thought it would be played. You cannot ignore the Cain/Abel parallel possibility.

Sandman

Sandman is one of those comic book series that has been in development Hell for years. Back September it was reported that a television series was finally set to happen on CW with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke set to produce the show.

Earlier this week, Kripke said (via THR) that the series is on hold at least for this season: “Unfortunately, for a lot of varying reasons, Sandman is not in the works, at least for this season,” He continued from the red carpet prior to the Supernatural panel at PaleyFest Sunday, “just didn’t quite happen this season through nobody’s fault, and hopefully we can do it again in the future.” You’d think these comments would have put the nail in Sandman‘s coffin right?

Just when things looked their darkest, comic book maestro Geoff Johns posted some statments on Twitter that go completely against Kripke’s comments. He reassures fans that he and Sandman creator Neil Gaiman are in fact moving forward on the Sandman television series.

TV Series In The Works For Neil Gaiman’s ‘Sandman’; ‘Supernatural’ Creator Possibly Attached

Warner Bros. TV is in the early stages of developing a television series based on the popular Neil Gaiman comic book series Sandman.

WB is currently in the process of acquiring the television rights to Sandman from sister company DC Entertainment, which owns Vertigo, the imprint that published the comic book series from 1989 until 1996.

The company is also in talks with several writer-producers to adapt the award-winning series for television, apparently with Eric Kripke, creator of the CW television series Supernatural, at the top of their list of choices.

Sandman adaptations have been stuck in development hell over the past two decades with a movie version of the series planned in the early 1990s by frequent Gaiman collaborate Roger Avary, but that fell through. There had even been talks earlier this year of bringing the series to HBO, but that didn’t work out either. Back in March, Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn, who adapted Gaiman’s Stardust for the big screen, expressed interest in doing a Sandman cable TV series and even spoke with Gaiman about his ideas, but nothing ever came of it.
