Universal has dropped the first trailer for The Fate of the Furious, the eighth installment of the Fast and Furious film franchise. F. Gary Gray takes over the director’s chair this time, taking the film to all new locations, and amping up the action with even more thrills. But our team won’t be pulling off heists, or stealing cars, or even getting revenge, they will be hunting one of their own when Dom (Vin Diesel) betrays the family. It’s been a while since we’ve reported anything on Fast 8, which now officially goes by The Fast Of The Furious. The eighth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise shows no signs of slowing down, even with the loss of the late Paul Walker. The franchise that has since become a global phenomenon, now with a brand new title to boot, and has announced that the first trailer for the sequel will hit the internet this Sunday. | Helen Mirren Is Actually Starring In ‘Fast and Furious 8’
In April of last year Helen Mirren made the unexpected statement that she wanted to star in the eighth Fast and Furious movie, and even do her own driving. At the time Furious 7 hadn’t even been released yet and it wasn’t clear if there would even be a Fast and Furious 8, but Dame Helen Mirren hath spoken and the universe listens. Not only was Fast 8 (or whatever the hell they’re calling the next one—what sane human being can keep track at this point) confirmed to be on the way, but now Mirren has actually joined the cast.

| Charlize Theron and Kristofer Hivju Confirmed For ‘Fast 8’
Earlier this year it was being reported that Charlize Theron was being courted to play the villain in Fast 8. Details on who the character is weren’t exactly clear as the role was being kept a secret. Now it is being confirmed that the Mad Max: Fury Road actress will indeed be joining Vin Diesel‘s major car franchise as the film’s antagonist. More on the story below.

By the end of the weekend at this year’s Oscars, one of eight nominated films will be added to an eternal list of Academy Award-winning Best Pictures. This year’s nominees run the gamut of genres. There are two films detailing modern scandals (Spotlight, The Big Short), two “based on true story” historical set pieces (Bridge of Spies, The Revenant), one little international indie film (Brooklyn), a deep emotionally wrenching drama (Room), a film about someone lost in space”¦ again (The Martian), and a kick ass action thrill ride (Mad Max: Fury Road). Are these the actual best films of 2015? Well, that depends on personal preference and opinion. Based on box office, this year’s nominees weren’t close to being the most popular films. Only one — The Martian — finished in the top 10 grossing films of the year, and only three total were in the top 21. So if the eight nominees aren’t your cup of tea, here are the Top 10 films of 2015 NOT nominated for Best Picture…
