Early ‘Iron Fist’ Buzz Says Marvel Show Has Some Issues
If you feel like you’ve seen the latest Marvel series on Netflix, Iron Fist, before without actually having seen it yet, it’s because the show shares a couple of themes with its own films and even DC competitors. A wealthy Caucasian protagonist is taken out of civilization and is taught by a wise sage-like character, usually of Far East descent – or Celtic if you are counting Doctor Strange – and comes home to find his company in the wrong hands involved with some sort of corruption. But then there is also the issue of cultural appropriation.
Whatever the problems may be, thematically, its seems like it’s going to get worse before it gets better, as Iron Fist is being hailed as one of the first missteps for Netflix. Check out some of the early reactions below.

Netflix Spotlights Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist’ Female Lead For International Women’s Day
Today is International Women’s Day, an observance that celebrates the importance of women and their place in the world. However, women still continue to fight for equality. While the struggle may be real, you can find inspiration from strong women everywhere, including in pop culture. So it seems like the perfect time for Netflix to release an Iron Fist featurette centering on the female lead Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick).

‘Iron Fist’ Trailer: Marvel’s Title Hero Will Reclaim What Is His
Before the Marvel heroes of New York City can assemble to become The Defenders, they have to introduce the title character of Iron Fist.
Netflix has just released the newest trailer for the upcoming series, which centers on Danny Rand’s (Finn Jones) return to reclaim what is rightfully his. As with all trailers, there is a bunch of new footage that lays out the simple premise of the series. Check it all out below.

Geek Peek: ‘The Defenders’ Finally Assemble For A Team Photo-Op
It has been two long years, but finally, the heroes of the Netflix and Marvel collaboration are finally getting together for The Defenders. Even if that means they have to fight amongst themselves to do it.
The first handful of images from the new series have finally arrived and it gives us our first look at the heroes Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Coulter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) together as well as the series’ first antagonist, the mysterious Alexandra, who will be played by Sigourney Weaver. ‘Daredevil’ Star Elodie Yung Returns As Elektra In Marvel’s ‘The Defenders’
It’s a regular reunion for the characters of Netflix’s Marvel universe in The Defenders. In addition to the core group of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones), many of the title heroes’ supporting team will also be in the upcoming superhero ensemble series.
Characters from Daredevil like Scott Glenn (Stick) and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) will appear as well as Jessica Jones‘ Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), and Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker). Luke Cage‘s Simone Missick will reprise her role as Misty Knight. Iron Fist‘s Jessica Henwick will also appear as Colleen Wing. Finally, there’s Rosario Dawson who returns as Claire Temple, the Nick Fury of this Netflix and Marvel collaboration.
