Last time on Vikings, the final battle between Frankia and the Vikings, brother against brother, Rollo (Clive Standen) against Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), ended in utter defeat for Ragnar, and praise and accolades for Rollo. An epilogue of sorts showed Ragnar gone for many, many years and his little boys grown up, hating him except for Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen). Ragnar finally came back and challenged all to kill him and be king.

A new leader is poised to reign in Kattegat on History Channel’s Vikings. One of the most famous vikings in history, Ivar the Boneless, born as a cripple to Ragnar Lothbrok and Aslaug (Travis Fimmel, Alyssa Sutherland), he developed his wits and became a fearsome strategist and leader, conquering much of England.

I had the honor of interviewing Alex Andersen, the young man poised to take the lead as Ivar of this fantastic show. We chatted about his audition, the relationship between Ivar and Ragnar, and his “brothers.”

Now that The History channel’s Vikings has been expanded to 20 episodes (about time!), we get 2 seasons of anticipatory videos in one. Season 4.5 will return in a few weeks, but it’s time for the teases. At San Diego Comic-Con on Friday night, the Vikings crew sailed in and wowed everyone as expected. The panel consisted of Travis Fimmel (“Ragnar”), Katheryn Winnick (“Lagertha”), Clive Standen (“Rollo”), Alexander Ludwig (“Bjorn”), Gustaf Skarsgard (“Floki”) and Michael Hirst (writer/creator) – the dream panel, really. There a new trailer was unveiled, and it promises that the second half of Season 4 will be incredible. But do we expect anything else?

History Channel’s hit show Vikings invades the biggest convention of the year, San Diego Comic-Con, later this month with never-before-scene footage, exclusive merchandise, autographs, a panel, and a “Vikings Viper’s Den” where fans will get to feel what it’s like to be in an abyss filled with snakes.
