The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Hasbro toys banner

The great thing about a Hasbro/Marvel movie action figure line is that in addition to some great figures based on the heroes and villains in the film, there’ll also be a bunch of comics-based figures to boot. And this is the case with the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie line. Hasbro debuted their tie-ins for the upcoming film at last weekend’s Toy Fair in New York City, and we have a bunch of photos of the products here below.

Of course, as with any movie-based toy line, released in advance of the film, there’s also a slight risk of some spoilers, such as the Dead Gwen Stacy figure*, but alas, that’s the nature of the internet, and in most cases, these spoilers often serve to heighten anticipation in the coming flick.

So in addition to the various figures straight out of the movie, we’ll be treated to comic book versions of Beetle, Black Cat, Carnage, Superior Spider-Man, and the Ultimate Green Goblin.

Magic: The Gathering

Over twenty years after being introduced as the first Trading Card Game, Magic: The Gathering is being optioned for the silver screen. 20th Century Fox recently closed the deal that gives them access to the franchise for the purpose of creating a feature film, though it has been rumored they might seek to rival other huge fantasy movie franchises in the future.

At the helm is Simon Kinberg, a writer and producer who already works closely with Fox. Word has it that he’ll be working closely with Hasbro’s Daniel Persitz to bring this to fruition. Assisting him in this are Kira Goldberg and Ryan Jones who were directly involved in the acquisition of the rights to M:TG. There’s not a lot of details right now but we’ll be bringing you updates as we get them.

Untitled Transformers 4 Header

With every new sequel comes new characters, and when you have a multi-billion dollar franchise like Transformers, you will add as many characters as you can to boost toy sales. So it’s not surprising at all to hear that we will be seeing new characters introduced in the untitled Transformers 4 movie.

It’s been known that the core cast of the Transformers films won’t return to reprise their characters. As to whether or not the voice cast will return to voice their respective Autobot personas is unknown. But according to HASBRO CEO Brian Goldner, we will be seeing more Autobots recruited to fight the war against the Decepticons in the next film.
