Amazon is currently selling the Star Trek 2-Disc DVD for only $7.85 (that’s 78% off the list price of $34.98). This 2-disc DVD edition contains the 2009 J.J. Abrams-directed feature film on DVD, as well as a digital copy. It also includes a bunch of bonus features, like feature-length director commentary, deleted scenes, gag reel, and other featurettes (see full listing below). | For J.J. Abrams, ‘Star Trek’ Characters Come Before A Release Date
If there is one thing J.J. Abrams is apparently really damn good at, it’s putting a punch back into a seemingly stale franchise. Not only did he help revive the Mission: Impossible franchise, but following in the wake of his 2009 hit Star Trek, that sci-fi franchise couldn’t be more popular. But that’s not getting to the director’s head, as to him, nothing comes before the characters and plot for the much anticipated sequel. The director recently spoke to Collider, and revealed that nothing will be happening until he gets the characters and script all set into place.

| SDCC 2011: ‘Doctor Who’ Panel Provides Details For Upcoming Episodes & More! |

As I write this post, I find myself quite envious of my TARDISblend co-host, Tom Cheredar, who was in attendance for the Doctor Who panel at San DIego Comic-Con this year.
In the famous Hall H, the panel began with grand fanfare, concluding with the Doctor Who theme blasting through the speakers as Matt Smith (the first ever Doctor to be nominated for a BAFTA Award) joined the stage — greeted with an almighty roar from the crowd… a beginning that gives a clear indication of how much bigger the 48-year old-series has become in the United States. While David Tennant was a highly loved Doctor by U.S. fans, as a long-term fan I cannot recall a level of fandom appreciation for a current Doctor since the days of Tom Baker. It’s a clear indication that the series is currently in good hands, and that Smith is delivering not just to the expectations of showrunner Steven Moffat, but to fans on an international level as well. Unfortunately Moffat was unavailable for the panel, but Smith was joined by his co-host Karen Gillan (who plays Amy Pond), producers Piers Wenger and Beth Willis, and writer Toby Whithouse. | Watch Now: ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ Teaser Trailer Released
The first teaser trailer for the fourth movie in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, has been released online by Paramount Pictures. While the trailer is of the teaser variety, it plays more like a full trailer packed with plenty of intense action, a brief story set–up, and peeks at the movie’s fantastic cast, which includes Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway, and Tom Wilkinson. Ghost Protocol is directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille) and produced by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Super 8). It hits theaters December 16, 2011.
