| Annapurna Could Distribute James Bond Films In The U.S.
Now that Daniel Craig‘s final James Bond film is in very early development, there are various distributors vying for the right to release the film here in the States. Sony had been releasing James Bond films here in the U.S. since 2006’s Casino Royale. However, their deal expired after the release of 2015’s Spectre, leaving various studios ranging from Warner Bros. to Universal battling for the rights to distribute the next film under their banner. | Daniel Craig Will Be James Bond For A Fifth and Final Time
While Eon Productions was in no hurry to announce James Bond 25, they didn’t exactly lock star Daniel Craig down for the project. Various reports said that the actor was signed on, but there was no actual confirmation that he would be returning. However, while stopping by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert for an interview, the actor took the time to say that he would be returning as James Bond for a fifth and final time. Now that James Bond 25 has a release date and Daniel Craig reportedly in line to return as the headlining agent, Eon Productions and MGM can focus on finding a director for the film. And as luck would have it, they are looking at three names. According to various reports, Yann Demange, Denis Villeneuve, and David Mackenzie are among the top names to direct the film. | Sam Mendes Confirmed To Direct ‘James Bond 24’ With Daniel Craig; Release Dates AnnouncedAfter what seemed like a back-and-forth of yeses and noes, Sam Mendes has finalized a deal with Sony Pictures to direct the untitled James Bond 24 with Daniel Craig returning once again to star. The announcement was made earlier today, and Skyfall screenplay writer John Logan will return to pen the script. The studio also announced October 23, 2015 release date for the UK and November 6, 2015 release dates for the US. That means that Bond 24 would be opening up against Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man. With those two pics opening up against each other, Disney will most likely switch the release date so that it won’t be in direct competition with such a heavy hitter.
