Hotel Artemis

Sure, Hotel Artemis may have the same aesthetics as a John Wick – the exclusivity, the rules of the hospital, the high-priced killers – but it still looks like a whole lot of fun.

There is a new red band trailer for the film that ups the violence and bad language. But I can’t be sure it will be enough to get out of John Wick‘s shadow. If anything the electric cast should be enough to get us interested in watching it. Check out the trailer below.

Retro Movie Review: ‘Taxi Driver’ 40th Anniversary Screening – Fathom Events

Taxi Driver Robert De Niro

Fathoms Events and Sony Pictures presents a chance to see one of the greatest and craziest films of all time, Martin Scorsese‘s Taxi Driver in U.S. theaters again this week. Celebrating the film’s 40th anniversary, Taxi Driver drives back to cinemas for only one more day, Wednesday, October 19th. I got a chance to go to a showing on Sunday in New York City. I’d argue the real star of the film is New York City itself. The city pulses throughout; the filth and degradation of the 1970s feels hundreds of years removed, not a mere 40.

Taxi Driver features the definition of “all-star cast,” headlined by Oscar-winner Robert De Niro as the film’s notorious anti-hero Travis Bickle. Joining him are future two-time Oscar-winner Jodie Foster, who was 14 when the movie debuted in 1976. Cybill Shepherd, Albert Brooks, Peter Boyle, and Harvey Keitel round out the cast. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Actor (De Niro), Supporting Actress (Foster), and Score (the amazing Bernard Herrmann).

Taxi Driver Robert De Niro

Martin Scorsese‘s Taxi Driver is coming back to the big screen for a limited run in honor of the film’s 40th anniversary.

In 1976, Scorsese introduced us to Vietnam veteran Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro), a deranged New York City cabbie who enjoyed pornographic films, stalking political candidates, and had a penchant for blondes. The film was gritty, intense, and violent, and Bickle became an anti-hero for the post-Nixon era. It garnered four Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor (Robert De Niro), Best Supporting Actress (Jodie Foster), and Best Score (Bernard Herrmann). The film was written by Paul Schrader, the first of his three collaborations with the acclaimed Oscar-winning director. Thanks to Fathom Events & Sony Pictures Entertainment, Taxi Driver is returning to U.S. theaters for two days only this October in preparation for its two-disc 40th anniversary edition Blu-Ray release on November 8, 2016.
