Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs

The Silence of the Lambs is a classic, and went on to win five Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor (Anthony Hopkins), Best Actress (Jodie Foster), Best Director (Jonathan Demme), and Best Adapted Screenplay (Ted Tally).

One of the most crucial scenes in the movie is when Hopkins’ Dr. Hannibal Lecter and Foster’s Clarice Starling meet for the very first time. It’s an all-time great scene. But who walked away from that scene with the upper hand?

Neil Young Journeys

Neil Young is the subject of an upcoming new documentary by acclaimed filmmaker Jonathan Demme, entitled Neil Young Journeys and by the looks of the trailer, this appears like another bullseye for the seminal, legendary rocker and on equal par filmmaker, both who have storied, rollercoaster-style, yet ultimately successful careers.

Watch the trailer here below.

Young remains at 65 years old one of rock and roll’s curious and influential enigmas, with his youthful vitality and earnest approach to his songs, which range from sublime quiet numbers to high octane out and out rockers. He’s been on the music scene since the 1960s, trailblazing his way through a bunch of different bands along the way, like Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, as well as his own Crazy Horse lineup. His influence stretches wide and far to this day as each generation of rock and rollers embrace Young as an at-once elder statesman in the rock community and a still viable artist.

Stephen King's 11/22/63

Filmmaker Jonathan Demme has optioned the film rights for 11/22/63, the upcoming novel by Stephen King, with plans to write, direct, and produce the feature, according to Variety.

The story centers around Jake Epping, a 35-year-old high school English teacher in Lisbon Falls, Maine, who discovers a portal that allows him to travel back in time to attempt to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas on November 22, 1963.

King’s book, 11/22/63: A Novel, is scheduled for release on November 8, 2011 (seems like a missed release-date opportunity, doesn’t it?).
