‘Fast & Furious 6’ Revs Its Engine With A New Poster And Super Bowl TV Spot

Fast & Furious 6

Universal Pictures’ gasoline and testosterone-powered franchise is back for another spin around the box office track this summer. Fast & Furious 6 now has a new TV spot that premiered during tonight’s Super Bowl as well as a teaser poster.

You can check them both out here below.

When the Fast & Furious series changed its focus from excessive brooding and street racing to all-out action and high-speed heists it got a creative shot of adrenaline right straight to its eyeballs. Adding Dwayne Johnson to the mix as a take-no-prisoners federal agent who throws himself into his work a bit too literally helped a lot too. The characters got cooler, the action sequences elaborate and exciting, and suddenly a franchise that seemed destined to be a passing fad of the first decade of the 21st century got bigger and better than ever before.

First Trailer For ‘Fast And The Furious 5’ Shows Up Online

The Movie God   |  @   |

For those of you who still care about the Fast and the Furious franchise, there is a fifth movie on the way being called Fast Five, and now you can watch a trailer for the movie here and now if you so choose to.

The movie brings together stars of previous chapters of the franchise including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris. Joining the cast is Dwayne Johnson as an intimidating cop on the heels of the elusive street racing group, who have plans of pulling off one more major job before disappearing forever.

There is a strong feeling of overkill with this franchise going into a fifth adventure, though it is impressive that the stars of the movies have generally stuck around for more…despite whatever your personal feelings for these flicks are. And judging by this new trailer, anyone who has loved and stayed faithful to the movies is in for another major adrenaline-fueled thrill ride, while the rest of you will see more of the expected explosions, chases, and high-speed shenanigans.

Head on down to the bottom of this post to check out the trailer for Fast Five for yourselves and share your thoughts on the franchise below.

Fast & Furious 2-Disc Special EditionFast & Furious
2-Disc Special Edition
Directed by Justin Lin
Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez
Universal Studios
Release Date: July 28, 2009

Fast & Furious is part of a tricky four-movie franchise. Most movie fans see a movie like this coming out, and immediately write it off. In other words, being objective toward these movies is not an easy task. Even for someone like myself, who thought the first movie was a ton of fun, really had no interest in seeing its sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious, and the threequel, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. One of the reasons I was so against these movies was their breaking of a cardinal rule: if you’re giving me a sequel, give me the original cast. So when I first saw the trailer for this fourth installment, and that the core cast from the original was finally brought back together, I was curious as to if it could be as fun as the first.

The movie opens up with lovey-dovey criminal couple Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) in another country and on another high-speed heist of tankers carrying profitable fuel. When Dom finds out the cops are hot on his trail, he parts ways with Letty to keep her out of jail. After hiding for a while, he finds out that someone close to him has been murdered, and he decides to sneak back into America and find out who’s responsible so he can take them down. This mission finds him bumping into old friend Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), who now works for the FBI and is also working to try and take down the same guy, whose name is Braga. After a rocky reunion, Brian and Dom go to the old house where Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) still lives, and decide to put their differences aside and work to find Braga and end his reign in the crime world.

Unexpected Trailer O’ The Day: ‘Fast & Furious’

Something interesting has come about today on MySpace in the trailer for Fast & Furious, the fourth movie in The Fast and the Furious franchise, which you can watch here below.

F&F4

First of all, I do still hate that title. It should be illegal to just remove “the” and “and” from a previous title and use it as a title for your sequel. It’s lazy, man, c’mon now. Aside from this, though, I must say, the trailer brought me back. It looks like I would have expected the first sequel to look. It has the important cast members back, it has the same vibe as the first movie and it looks like potentially good time. These are all things I wasn’t expecting to see.
