| ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children’ Trailer: Tim Burton’s New World Is Full Of Endearing Fantasy
There is one thing you can count on from Tim Burton, and it’s that he has a knack for bringing out the art from the strange narrative. Though his most recent work has been a bag of mixed results, the filmmaker has stayed true to his style, never once wavering from it. And that really shows in the first new trailer for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. The film is an adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name. Considering its title and plot, it seems like Burton was born to direct this film, which centers on a boy who is tasked with protecting a refuge for children with unusual abilities from those who seek to expose their sanctity. Check out the full trailer below, along with a poster for the movie.

| Sam Mendes Won’t Be Directing The Next James Bond Adventure After All
Last year Skyfall brought the James Bond franchise roaring back to life after a four-year-long hiatus due primarily to the financial difficulties of the once mighty studio MGM. Under the direction of Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition), Skyfall became the definitive Bond film for many, earned critical raves, and was the first movie in the series to gross over $1 billion worldwide. Mendes’ intelligent handling of the material and the performances he elicited from series leads Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench were credited rightfully for a major part of the film’s creative and commercial success and it had been assumed that the director would return to helm the next outing for Ian Fleming‘s iconic superspy. Sadly that does not look to be so. Mendes said in a recent interview with Empire that he’s turned down an offer from the producers to direct the next Bond film.

Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee Gareth Mallory (Ralph Finnes) raises concerns about M’s (Judi Dench) competence as head of the Secret Intelligence Service. It seems the only person who can restore M’s reputation is Bond. James Bond. Directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road), Skyfall is the 23rd installment of the long-running spy series, featuring an all-star ensemble that includes Naomie Harris as Eve, Ben Whishaw as Q, Bérénice Marlohe as Sévérine, and Albert Finney as Kincade. Martin Campbell’s 2006 film, Casino Royale, rebooted the James Bond series, establishing a new timeline and narrative framework, allowing the film to show a less experienced, more vulnerable Bond. The film introduced Daniel Craig (Layer Cake) and was praised for its dark, realistic reboot of the series – in the spirit of Batman Begins.

| Watch The Teaser Trailer For Sam Mendes’ New James Bond Film ‘Skyfall’
Most teaser trailers are forgettable, useless, and fail to deliver an increase in anticipation. Apparently Sony didn’t get that memo, as the first trailer for Sam Mendes‘ Skyfall has arrived. You can watch it here below. Rather than give too much or too little, the teaser is on point, sending the right kinds of tones. The best part about this trailer is that we don’t even get a look at Javier Bardem, instead we see his shadowy figure engulfed in flames. So with no clue about the plot, the villain, or what the hell Skyfall is, I’d say that this was a very effective teaser trailer. And for those who haven’t been following the status of the movie, here’s the very vague plot description.
