Dark Horse has announced as a part of their celebrations for Star Wars Day today, that they are releasing two digital comic bundles for May the Fourth. Called MegaBundles, the comics company has released two offers – one being for young readers, a collection of Star Wars comics for all ages costing $30; and the second being a huge deal of over 125 comics for $100!

The concluding chapters of KOTOR: War completes the prospect of an escalating war between the Republic and the Mandalorians through the eyes of former Jedi, Zayne Carrick. The final two issues of the Star Wars series deliver a satisfying conclusion, which sadly smarts from some somewhat disjointed storytelling. Despite this, the concluding episodes fare much better than the initial episodes, indicating that it should make for some fair reading as a collected edition.

To set the stage, the Republic is deep into its crusade against the Mandalorians. Unwillingly drafted into armed forces representing his home world, ex-Jedi Zayne Carrick eventually finds himself captured by a group of Mandalorians lead by several disgruntled former Jedi Masters. Redubbing themselves as “The Mandalorian Knights,” they set their sights on prolonging the war against the Republic.

Knights Of The Old Republic: War continues with its next issue, bringing with it a little enlightenment into some of the new characters introduced in the debut publication. Along with some more depth into the culture of the Mandalorian Warriors, KOTOR: War strays rather from the traditional Revan/Malak and Jedi/Sith tome, and looks more into the impact of an ancient war on specific individuals.

“Your Guide to the Dawn Of The Jedi era of Star Wars: It is an era of legend, an era before the discovery of hyperspace travel, before the foundation of the Old Republic, and before the philosophies of the Jedi and the Sith were codified. This is a tale of a great and mythic society, established and nurtured by powers unthinkably ancient and mysterious, on a collision course with an empire founded on darkness and death. These are the true roots of both the Jedi and the Sith Orders . . . the dawn of the Jedi.”

Issue #0 of the brand new Star Wars comic series Dawn Of The Jedi is not really a comic book. Instead, it is more of a text overview and an artistic preview of what is to come – and there is a LOT in this new series that will break a lot of ground in the Star Wars mythos.
