This period piece tells the story of an Edwardian knight (newcomer Lee Jones) who doesn’t want that life anymore, but ends up as the title character. The Kurt Sutter period piece, The Bastard Executioner, has been picked up for a 10-episode order by FX. The pilot, which was written by Sutter and directed by his go-to director, Paris Barclay, recently wrapped in Wales.

Kurt Sutter has been teasing us for months with his “From The Set” videos, and he is truly building up the anticipation for his period drama series, The Bastard Executioner, giving us behind the scenes looks from himself, cast, and crew.

All trailers can be considered spoilers, but some trailers show a little bit too much footage, revealing almost the entire plot point of a film. But the trailer for Antoine Fuqua‘s (The Equalizer, Training Day) Southpaw, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, shows too much, yet somehow leaves us wanting more.

The cast has been set for the Sons Of Anarchy creator’s new period piece for FX, The Bastard Executioner, according to Deadline, which reports that production on the pilot begins on March 19, 2015 in Wales.

So what do you get when you combine the forces of Sons of Anarchy, True Blood, The Americans, The Last Ship, Penny Dreadful, and Galavant? A ton of well-deserved hype for a pilot that is sure to be put to series.
