| Rumor: Marvel Studios Secures Rights To ‘Fantastic Four’ From Fox |

This past summer, Fox attempted to revive Fantastic Four with a bold new vision. Starring a young diverse cast consisting of Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Michael B. Jordan, the film would be directed by Josh Trank, but a number of behind-the-scenes problems revealed that it was a troubled shoot. It wasn’t so much of “creative differences” that fueled the conflict, but the shocking allegations of “combative and abusive behavior” by the director, along with Trank reportedly trying to control what the cast could say during the film’s press day, not to mention that he had no faith in the film whatsoever. In the end, the Fantastic Four reboot tanked at the box office and was widely panned by both critics and audiences, in such a way that it gave hope to the idea that the rights to Marvel’s first family may revert back to Marvel Studios. And that seems to be the case, as a hot rumor says Marvel has struck a deal with Fox to get the rights back to Fantastic Four. More on the story here below.

Blizzard Entertainment this morning at Gamescom in Germany officially revealed the next chapter in the World of Warcraft series: World of Warcraft: Legion. The new expansion will expand the level cap once again, this time to 110. Also there will be a new playable class: Demon Hunter. With the announcement comes a new high res CGI sizzle reel featuring Gul’dan and a brief video explaining a few of the new features. They will have unique abilities like seeing through walls and a double jump. The sizzle reel shows Gul’dan awakening the most well-known demon hunter in Illidan Stormrage. New demon hunters will be called upon by Illidan to fulfill quests as part of their “awakening”. | Syfy Has New Shows This Summer: ‘Dominion’ and ‘Defiance’ |

Syfy Channel’s Defiance returned last week for Season 2 following the premiere of Dominion, a new series based on the 2010 film Legion. Both series together made for a strong night of programming for Syfy with Dominion seeing a solid start. Compared to all ad-supported cable scripted drama series premieres year to date, Dominion ranks #4 in L+SD rating among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, and #2 among Men 18-49 and Men 25-54. Kicking off the night at 8PM (ET/PT) with its Season 2 premiere, Defiance delivered 776K Adults 18-49 and 948K Adults 25-54, which is a solid return for basic cable. Defiance was sold as a truly interactive experience when it premiered alongside a massively multilayer online video-game. Happenings in the game were supposed to effect the series. It appears though that the television series featuring genre favorite actress Julie Benz (Dexter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is outlasting the game. The series is set on Earth after a destructive battle with aliens. The world is now trying to rebuild with aliens and humans trying to live together.
