| SDCC 2014: Benedict Cumberbatch Poses With LEGO Dragon Smaug (Photos)
This week, actor and fan favorite Benedict Cumberbatch made his first appearance at the Geek mecca San Diego Comic-Con, where he took part in panels for two of his upcoming films: the DreamWorks animated movie, Penguins of Madagascar, where he voices a wolf, and of course, The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, where does the voice and motion-capture performance for two characters – the Necromancer and the dragon Smaug. Along with speaking on panels, Cumberbatch also stopped to pose with the LEGO dragon Smaug at the WB booth. Check out photos here below of the actor standing with the LEGO creation, which was made out of 83,433 LEGO bricks. | Next LEGO Movie ‘Ninjago’ Gets A Release Date
The LEGO Movie was a smash success, scoring $460.7 million worldwide on a $60 million budget, so it should come as no great shock that Warner Brothers wants to turn it into the next huge franchise. A direct sequel to the movie is already in the works for a planned 2017 release, and now comes word of a September 23, 2016 release date for a spinoff titled Ninjago. The movie will be based on the Ninjago line of ninja-inspired LEGOs, and will be directed by Charlie Bean, who previously directed Tron: Uprising for Disney XD and will be making his feature debut here. Bryan Shukoff and Kevin Chesley wrote the screenplay.

| Because Awesome: Terry Pratchett’s ‘Discworld,’ In Lego Form! |

As some of you might be aware (but I was not) there is a Lego site where you can go and vote for your favorite themes/characters/shows/etc. to hopefully be one day turned into a Lego set. But before you go dragging your thirty-year-old building blocks out and attempting to build a massive homage to whatever it is you feel deserves to be immortalized, know this: there are A LOT of ideas out there. Some are approved, while others are not. There are so many that it’s difficult to choose just one that I would want to highlight. Oh wait, no it isn’t. I know exactly which one I want to show you: Terry Pratchett‘s Discworld! Not only did GlenBricker submit the idea, he also managed to create a pretty awesome Discworld resting on the back of four elephants who are standing on the shell of a giant turtle called Great A’Tuin. Of course, if you are a Pratchett fan you already knew that. But this is a worthy endeavor, in every sense of the word. How better to pay tribute to one of the finest fantasy authors of our time than by building his world and characters out of legendary Legos? Check out the photo below for a look at the mock up.

| Full Trailer For ‘The Simpsons’ LEGO Episode “Brick Like Me”
We’ve seen images already, and now a trailer has been released for the upcoming LEGO-themed episode of The Simpsons, titled “Brick Like Me,” which will air this upcoming Sunday night, May the 4th, at 8 p.m. EST. Unlike most single TV episode previews, this is a longer, movie trailer-like preview running almost two minutes, so you’ll get a nice look at what to expect from the LEGO episode.
