Directed by Ken Girotti
Written and Created by Michael Hirst
Starring Travis Fimmel, Clive Standen, Katheryn Winnick, Alexander Ludwig, Alyssa Sutherland, Linus Roache, Moe Dunford, Gustaf Skarsgard
The History Channel
Air Date: Thursday, April 16th, 2015, 10:00pm Before the Vikings 3.9 “Breaking Point” review, let’s recap last week. Some spoilers! Watch the episode before you read past the recap. Last week’s “To The Gates” episode was action-packed pretty much throughout, with most of it taken up with the big attack and battle. I swear I almost had a heart attack and texted my editor that they killed another character off, when I saw Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) with that blank corpse stare. And then I had to text “My bad!” when he wasn’t. THEN, I thought Rollo (Clive Standen) died and I was set to quit the show. And THEN I thought Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) died by fire, and I was ok with that, but I was wrong about that, too. I couldn’t even really write about it last week, because that would be giving everything away. I needed a drink after that episode.

Vikings
Season 3 Episode 7: “Paris”
Directed by Kelly Makin
Written and Created by Michael Hirst
Starring Travis Fimmel, Clive Standen, Katheryn Winnick, Alexander Ludwig, Alyssa Sutherland, Maude Hirst, Linus Roache, and Gustaf Skarsgard
The History Channel
Air Date: Thursday, April 2nd, 2015, 10:00pm There are serious spoilers if you are not caught up, so I suggest you go catch up. Hurry! I think by now everybody knows the most shocking death on Vikings to date – our beloved Athelstan (George Blagden), was murdered by Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard), in Vikings 3.6 “Born Again”, just as he found peace and unity with his Christian God. When he dared to suggest he leave Kattegat, Ragnar could not bear the thought of him leaving. He was super supportive of him finding his faith and told him he loved him, but could not leave him. Floki, ever the fundamentalist, also could not stand their closeness, especially as they huddled together planning the Paris raid. So he struck Athelstan down, who accepted the death with arms open wide.

Air Date: Thursday, March 26th, 2015, 10:00pm Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers, spoilers, spoilers! Last week on Vikings 3.5 “The Usurper,” the warriors returned to Kattegat after a “successful” battle for Mercia. The discovery of Siggy’s death was too much for Rollo (Clive Standen), who was eaten with regret and grief. He’s back to self-destruction. Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) confronts Kalf (Ben Robson), with no results. Even Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) doesn’t help her. Aethelwulf (Moe Dunford) destroys the viking village in Wessex, slaughtering even the children. And King Ecbert (Linus Roache) was the puppetmaster the entire time. Ragnar… he told you he was corrupt. You should have listened.

| ‘Vikings’ Midseason Trailer and Speak Like A Viking! (Video)
Lots of Viking videos today, my friends! We have just passed the halfway point into this delicious season, and my god… how else will they shock and entertain us? A god had walked among them, we lost a major character, mass slaughter, sex, sex, and more sex, and tons of betrayal. Just a beautiful day in the neighborhoods of Kattegat and Wessex, right? The midseason trailer does a quick flash of images before focusing on the upcoming atack on Paris, which is next on Ragnar’s (Travis Fimmel) to-do list. And oh no she didn’t! Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) better not have said, “Kill the priest.” Does she not know, given the choice, Ragnar would choose Athelstan (George Blagden) every time? Continue below for the midseason trailer as well as a handful of other videos.
