You could file this under too funny to be true, if it wasn’t very much true. As much as we would like Black Panther‘s Wakanda to be a real nation, it isn’t. But the name does share its pronunciation with the real-life Wauconda, Illinois, which, as of now, is a bit unfortunate. That’s because some fans have decided to contact the town mayor’s office asking about things like the fictional metal vibranium. This may be hilarious for us on the outside, but it is creating a bit of trouble for those who live in Wauconda. More on the story below.

| ‘Black Panther’ Director Ryan Coogler Pens Thank You Letter To Fans
Marvel Studios’ Black Panther continues to perform beyond our expectations at the box office. Marvel’s 18th film is able to tell a beautiful story that uses social issues as themes, and it still remembers that it is a superhero film. So it weaves in those real-world themes with some fantastic comic book sequences. All of that coming from the young Ryan Coogler, who made his directorial debut with the Sundance drama Fruitvale Station and then followed it up with the compelling Creed. Black Panther is Coogler’s third directing effort, and he shows no signs of slowing down. In light of the film’s success, one would think that it would inflate a filmmaker’s ego. But not Coogler. The director expressed his gratitude to the fans helping make Black Panther a huge success. Read the letter below.

| Details On What You Will See On Disney’s Streaming Service
Disney will be launching their new streaming service next year, and details as to what we will see on it are starting to surface. As expected, we will see a lot of the main Disney properties, but there will also be a few new changes to some of the other properties the studio owns like Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm. According to new reports, we can expect to see some brand-new content as well. From the new Star Wars TV shows to films that will be released exclusively on the service. More on the story below.

| Stream Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Black Panther’ Soundtrack For Free Now
One thing I forgot to mention in my review of Marvel’ Black Panther – something I regret not putting in – is the fact that the music is an excellent complement to the superhero film. Produced by Kendrick Lamar, the soundtrack is easily one of the most anticipated Marvel soundtracks to date. Probably because it’s one of the few that is worthwhile.
