‘What Men Want’ Trailer: Taraji P. Henson Hears What Men Really Think In Gender Bent Remake

Remakes simply can’t be helped. So in order to help a remake from feeling repetitious, it’s going to have to offer an interesting twist in order to keep things fresh. In the case of What Men Want, a re-imagining of the Mel Gibson-starring comedy vehicle What Women Want, we see Taraji P. Henson take the lead as a woman with the ability to hear men’s most inner thoughts.
An official trailer for the film has been released by Paramount, and you can check it out below.

SXSW 2015 Movie Review: Hello, My Name Is Doris
|
 |

Hello, My Name Is Doris
Director: Michael Showalter
Screenwriter: Michael Showalter, Laura Terruso
Cast: Sally Field, Max Greenfield, Beth Behrs, Wendi Mclendon-Covey, Stephen Root, Elizabeth Reaser, Jack Antonoff, Natasha Lyonne, Tyne Daly
Release date: March 14, 2015 (SXSW)
In Hello, My Name Is Doris, Doris (Sally Field, The Amazing Spider-Man) is a sixty-something woman experiencing a life crisis. Inspired by a motivational speaker, Doris attempts to woo a much younger man, and finds herself embraced by the Brooklyn hipster scene in the process.
Having missed out on living for the first sixty years of her life, Doris is equal parts innocent and lustful; desperate to experience life before it’s too late. Screenwriter Laura Terruso’s juxtaposition of “vintage-obsessed hipster†culture and “cooky cat-lady hoarder†is brilliant, lending itself to endless situational comedy. Field is perfect in the role of Doris. Funny, vulnerable, sexy, and cute, often all at the same time.

Starring Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris, Damon Wayans Jr., and Hannah Simone
FOX
Air Date: Tuesday, February 3, 2015, 9pm
The silliness continues from last week when Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Nick (Jake Johnson) vow to go into business together. However, they both have to be the boss, which results in the requisite laughter (not for them). The masterpiece that results in this partnership is the “Swuit” — a suit made out of a sweatsuit. Jess (Zooey Deschanel) is their cheerleader, therapist, and ultimately, their model. CeCe (Hannah Simone) has no money for college, so Winston (Lamorne Morris) and Coach (Damon Wayans Jr.) decide to invest in her life and take it just a bit too far.

Advanced TV Review: New Girl: Series Premiere
New Girl
Series Premiere
Starring Zooey Deschanel, Jake M. Johnson, Max Greenfield, Damon Wayans Jr.
Written by Elizabeth Meriwether
Fox
Air date: Tuesday, September 20, 2011 9/8c
New Girl, the new sitcom from Fox, is the best new show of the TV season. Okay, that is a pretty bold statement. I have not seen any other show from the new Fall lineup, but if the preview that I saw of the pilot episode is an indicator of how the series will play out, then those other new shows will have to have to bring their A game to the table.
Right about now, I am sure you are wondering why this show is so great. Is the premise really that original? Well, no. The premise is pretty much a staple of in the landscape of TV sitcoms. A recently single girl, Jess (Zooey Deschanel), moves into an apartment with a group of guys she has nothing in common with.
