| First Look: Melissa Benoist As Supergirl In Full Costume
DC is at it again, this time dropping the first photos of their upcoming Supergirl television series, with star Melissa Benoist in full Supergirl costume. Check out the photos here below. The upcoming Warner Bros. TV series, to air on CBS, revolves around Kara Danvers (aka Kara Zor-El) who not only happens to be Superman’s 24-year-old cousin, but is also finally taking action as a hero for the first time. Apparently after leaving Krypton she has been hiding her powers, much as Clark/Kal did. I, personally, am curious as to how much of the original backstory will remain and how much will receive an update.

| ‘Supergirl’: Helen Slater & Melissa Benoist ‘Supergirls Then and Now’ Photo
We learned last week that Helen Slater, who played the title superheroine in 1984’s Supergirl movie, had joined the cast of the upcoming CBS television series Supergirl in an undisclosed role. Now, series star Melissa Benoist, who will take on the title role of the new show, posted a photo to her Twitter account of herself with Slater, with the caption “Supergirls then and now…. @HelenSlaterNYC …is this real life?! So crazy/amazing!!” The photo shows the actresses in plain clothes in a casual setting, no costumes or anything like that. Check out the image and the Twitter post here below.

| ‘Glee’ Star Melissa Benoist Cast As Lead In ‘Supergirl’ TV Series
We learned back in September that CBS would be bringing a live-action Supergirl series to the small screen. Now, the series has found its super lead in Melissa Benoist, according to Vulture, who reports that the Glee star will play 24-year-old Kryptonian Kara Zor-El. Aside from being a cast member of TV’s Glee, the 26-year-old Benoist also had a small role as Miles Teller’s love interest in the Academy Award-nominated Whiplash and appeared in two episodes of Showtime’s Homeland.
