| Joel Edgerton To Star Opposite Christian Bale’s Moses In Ridley Scott’s Biblical Epic ‘Exodus’ |

Fairy tales and zombies are still in, and will remain so for the foreseeable future, but the biblical movies are getting ready step back into the Hollywood spotlight. The project we’ve heard most about is Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming Noah, which stars Russell Crowe as the fabled ark-builder, but plenty more are in the works. MGM is planning a remake of Ben-Hur. Brad Pitt may star in one titled Pontius Pilate. Steven Spielberg was attached to a Moses movie titled Gods and Kings, but has since departed. Then there was that David and Goliath project with Dwayne Johnson and Taylor Lautner possibly starring. We’ve even heard of some stranger projects like another Moses flick that would be made in the same style as 300, or Will Smith’s vampiric twist on the story of Cain and Abel. Director Ridley Scott also has a biblical project on his table, and his too revolves around the story of Moses (that Moses is so hot right now). Once simply titled Moses, the movie is now being called Exodus, and it already has a gentleman who goes by the name Christian Bale attached to play the lead. The project is now gaining a little speed with word that The Great Gatsby, Zero Dark Thirty, and Smokin’ Aces (why not!) star Joel Edgerton is in talks to join the cast.

| Beginnings Of A New Trend? Story Of Moses To Get ‘300’ Style Makeover
The trades are reporting that 20th Century Fox has made a deal to acquire a pitch that would see the story of Moses from the Bible being retold using the highly-visual green screen styles that were used in the filming of Zack Snyder’s 300. The movie is expected to cover all of the chapters of the life of Moses, including almost dying as an infant, standing up to the Pharaoh, freeing the Hebrews from slavery, the plagues, and of course, the parting of the Red Sea. The script is being written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, who recently wrote a new take on the classic tale of Moby Dick with a graphic novel vibe to it that is being developed for Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov.
