It was that time once again to head south on 94 and make my way to Chicago, for C2E2 2019, which took place March 22, 2019 – March 24, 2019. It was a two-day event for me, going on Saturday and Sunday. Each year I go seems to be a new experience and this was no different. This year we seemed to focus more on the panels, spending more time in the main room rather than walking around, and when we did hit the convention floor, it was around Artist Alley, getting stuff signed and trying our best not to buy numerous prints/artwork we have no room for. So that meant less pictures of cosplayers this year, but I was able to get a few at the last minute once the show closed on Sunday, and people were lingering outside the entrance. But on the plus side, I got to cover a few panels, with pictures, and hey, even a video for you to enjoy. See below for our rundown of C2E2 2019, along with our photo gallery from the convention and panel coverage and videos.

| Real-Life Griswolds Take Truckster To Disney World For 30th Anniversary Of ‘Vacation’ |
|
Thirty years ago today, National Lampoon’s Vacation starring Chevy Chase was released in theaters and the world got to go on a cross-country road trip with the Griswold family as they drove their hideous metallic pea Wagon Queen Family Truckster (you think you hate it now, wait til you drive it) from their home in Chicago to the Walley World theme park in Los Angeles. As we know, things didn’t exactly go smoothly, but the Griswolds had love and they had each other. In honor of National Lampoon’s Vacation 30th anniversary, a real-life Griswold family – Steve and Lisa Griswold and their two daughters, Lisa and Brook – took a journey in their own custom-made Wagon Queen Family Truckster, driving from their home in Canton, Georgia, to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Their Truckster matches the one seen in the film, complete with the blue and brown luggage on the roof rack! Check out the photos of the car as well as video with the family here below.

TMZ is reporting that legendary writer and director John Hughes has died. The report is that Hughes was out for a morning walk in New York while visiting family when he suffered a fatal heart attack. The news has since been confirmed by multiple other top news sources. John Hughes was not only a staple in popular ’80s cinema, the man was an ’80s cultural icon. His brain was responsible for some of the best comedies and teen angst movies ever created. While most of his credits came as a writer and a producer, he’s best known for his work behind the camera.
