| ‘Jurassic World’ Will Be A Direct Sequel To The Original, According To Colin Trevorrow
Jurassic World is shaping up to be one of this summer’s most promising big-screen blockbusters, but how exactly will the fourth installment in the franchise birthed by Steven Spielberg‘s groundbreaking 1993 smash dinosaur adventure Jurassic Park address the events of the lackluster (but fun in their own way) sequels The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) and Jurassic Park III (2001)? Short answer: it won’t. According to a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow claims that his entry in the series won’t acknowledge the second and third movies. In the world of Jurassic World, they never even happened.

| ‘Jurassic World’ Trailer: Chaos Reigns On Dinosaur Island Theme ParkColin Trevorrow‘s Jurassic World takes places years after the events of the first film, Jurassic Park. In many ways this new installment can be considered a reboot that takes place in the same timeline. In Jurassic World, the newly refurbished theme park has better management, and a better dinosaur tamer (played by Chris Pratt). But as always, if you want to increase park attendance, you must bring new attractions. And for a park full of dinosaurs, that means increasing that feeling of fear. As we will see in the new trailer here below, management got a little ahead of themselves, and broke the boundaries of playing god by creating their own dinosaur, the dangers of which were already expressed in the previous trailers and TV spots. Now we’ll see why mixing dinosaur DNA to create a new one may not have been the best idea.

| ‘Inferno’: Ron Howard Reveals Cast For Third ‘Da Vinci Code’ Movie
Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard has officially revealed the cast for Inferno, the third movie in his Da Vinci Code trilogy based on the books of author Dan Brown. The previous two movies, 2006’s The Da Vinci Code and 2009’s Angels & Demons, starred two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks in the lead, and the actor again reprises his role as Robert Langdon for the trilogy-maker. The second movie was actually Hanks’ first ever live-action sequel, believe it or not (he of course voiced the character Woody in Pixar’s Toy Story animated features and shorts), which naturally makes Inferno his first live-action trilogy. You can see who else Howard has announced for the cast below.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is the X-Men movie I’ve dreamed of since my youth, back in the day when I mowed lawns during the dog days of summer to save up enough money to buy the latest X-comics off the shaky wire racks at my neighborhood 7-11. Those were the days when the comics were written by the great Chris Claremont and drawn by his gifted artistic equal Jim Lee and Future Past is the closest we’ve come yet to having a motion picture that brings those bold emotions, visuals, and outrageous “only in the funny books” style of four-color storytelling to explosive life. As the late, great Mickey Newbury once sung, the future’s not what it used to be. The world has long been ravaged by a war between an alliance of mutants and sympathetic humans and the relentless robotic mutant hunters the Sentinels. Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and his X-Men are now the last remnants of the resistance and every day their numbers get lower. Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page) and her ability to project a person’s consciousness back in time has helped give them a slim advantage in the ongoing battle and that power must now be used to send someone back to the point in history when the war became unavoidable: the assassination of Sentinel creator Dr. Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) at the hands of Xavier’s former friend and surrogate sister Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) in 1973.

Jurassic World is set some 20 years after the events of Jurassic Park, and as you can imagine, the park has had time to grow and thrive, while facilities have decayed. And while director Colin Trevorrow has expressed disappointment in some of the leaks that have found their way onto the internet, he doesn’t intend on letting that stop him. Now three new images have been released. There aren’t any dinosaurs in sight, but we do get a look at the new generation of characters that hope to survive the Jurassic World. Hit the jump to see them.
