| ‘Dark Phoenix’ Trailer: The X-Men May Be Experiencing Some Déjà Vu
Dark Phoenix may be the final X-Men film under the 20th Century Fox banner before it goes over to Disney. If that is the case, then they will be going out on their own terms. And it looks like director Simon Kinberg could end the franchise with a story arc that we have already seen before: “The Dark Phoenix Saga.” In it, Jean Grey becomes possessed by a cosmic entity and kills nearly all of life in the process. With the X-Men trying to regain control of their friend, there are outside forces that seek to manipulate her. And now we are seeing more of that, and how the new villain (Jessica Chastain) will stop at nothing to use Jean’s (Sophie Turner) new powers for her own nefarious goals. Fox has released a new trailer for Dark Phoenix, and you can check it out below.

| ‘Dark Phoenix’ Trailer: The X-Men Go Up Against The Almighty Power Of The Phoenix
Dark Phoenix, the latest installment in the X-Men film franchise, was supposed to be released in November. But the film needed some additional photography and reshoots, and as a result, it pushed the release date to February of next year. Whether or not this was a sign of trouble is unknown. But at least we get to finally see what has become of Simon Kinberg‘s directorial debut. Fox has dropped the first trailer for Dark Phoenix, which is based on the story arc of the same name which sees Jean Grey, one of the most powerful members of the X-Men, fuse with a cosmic entity who has the power to destroy the entire galaxy. Check out the trailer and a new poster below.

| Geek Peek: First Look At ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ (Images)
And this time, we will get it right. Or at least we can hope that Simon Kinberg gets it right as he makes his directorial debut with X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which as you could have guessed, will be a loose adaptation of the “Dark Phoenix Saga” comics storyline written by Chris Claremont. Though, this wouldn’t be the first time that the X-Men franchise has attempted Dark Phoenix in a film. In 2006, X-Men: The Last Stand tried to use a resurrected Jean Grey (then played by Famke Janssen) as the Dark Phoenix who was being manipulated by Magneto (then played by Ian McKellen). Now with the film franchise’s timeline being rebooted, we can look forward to some wrongs being righted. We are getting our first look at Dark Phoenix, which includes our very first peek at Jessica Chastain‘s villainous character. Check them out below.

The Miller family, Matt (Andre Holland) and Shelby (Lily Rabe) are dead. The actors that played them in the TV series, Dominic (Cuba Gooding Jr.) and Audrey (Sarah Paulson) are dead. Everyone is dead”¦ except for Lee Harris (Adina Porter), Matt’s sister. Lee somehow managed to survive the haunted North Carolina estate twice. She is far from being an innocent survivor.
