Spotlight trailer header image

In early 2002, the Boston Globe conducted an investigation on allegations of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. The Spotlight team’s coverage exposed a large cover-up within the church, that stretched far beyond just the city of Boston. It revealed that the scandal had spread nationwide. The Globe would then receive a Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for their comprehensive coverage on the scandal that rocked the United States, but also forced the Catholic Church to make changes within their policy.

Now the real-life story has become the subject of a film. Spotlight will bring the story of the Pultizer Prize winning Boston Globe’s investigation to life. Directed by Thomas McCarthy (Win-Win, The Visitor), Spotlight stars Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Brian d’Arcy James, John Slattery, Liev Schreiberg, Stanley Tucci, and Billy Crudup.

Check out the first trailer for Spotlight below.

The alien race seeded this planet a long time ago, as they have other planets, to someday return and reclaim it. Sand’s people came to this planet a mere 100 years ago, sent to colonize. They brought with them their ancient Hopi and Zuni cultural ways and beliefs. Now, many factions are heading towards a collision – Sand and Tuchvala, Tuchvala’s alien sisters, the leaders of the colony, and the leader of the mother planet. Who will prevail? You must dive into the journey yourself to find out!

Dope Movie Image

Rick Famuyiwa‘s Dope was one of the best films to come out of the Sundance Film Festival this year. Critics raved over how the energetic film infused classic hip-hop beats and ’90s geek nostalgia, and how it had a John Hughes-feel to it. Open Road obtained the rights in just a matter of days after the film’s debut at the festival, and scheduled it for a summer release.

Starring Shameik Moore (Incredible Crew, The Watsons Go to Birmingham) Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), and Kiersey Clemons (Eye Candy, Shake It Up), Dope centers on a group of high school kids from Inglewood, CA, who must find a way to recoup money from a drug deal gone wrong or get killed.

Now a teaser trailer for the movie has appeared online, and it gives us a first look at the style, energy, music, and nostalgia you will experience while watching the film. Hit the jump to check it out.

Machete Kills

While Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete Kills may have completed production, it still lacks a release date. It was expected that the film would hit theaters late next year, but producers who are filing a lawsuit against Rodriguez may prevent that from happening.

Open Road had picked up the distribution rights for the film last month, but a lawsuit filed by Overnight Productions against Rodriguez and his Quick Draw Productions could block the release. According to Deadline, the producers of the film are “seeking to terminate the April 2012 agreement in which they granted director/producer Rodriguez the rights to make another action movie about the rogue Mexican Federale. The rights would revert back to Rick Schwartz’s Overnight. The plaintiffs are seeking $2 million in damages.”

Red Dawn Cast Header

What a difference a couple of years make. After sitting on a shelf for the better part of two years, the remake of Red Dawn hits theaters this Thanksgiving. The film features a new generation of American’s youth defending their land against the forces of the North Koreans. Originally the film’s antagonists were the Chinese, but the film was digitally altered so that the antagonists would be North Koreans. We previously posted two new images from the film, and now we got our first look at the poster for Red Dawn, which looks like one of the options you would see on an instagram photo. Check it out below.

As you can see, MGM and Open Road are slowly pushing out the promotional material for the film. With this poster, this brings out print promotions to a grand total of four (the header image above, the two images, and now this poster). So if you are tired of photos and are just itching to see a trailer for the film, then you’re in luck, because the first trailer for the Red Dawn remake premieres tomorrow.
