Furious 7 Header Image

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Furious 7, the seventh entry in the highly successful Fast and Furious franchise. The trailer starts off in a really big way, and the action sequences seen are only a glimpse into what will probably be one of the most exciting films of 2015. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lucas Black all return to reprise their respective roles. They will be joined by newcomers like Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Nathalie Emmanuel, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, and John Brotherton.

The trailer is also bit of a sad reminder that this is the last time we will ever see the late Paul Walker in a movie. But based on the massive marketing campaign that was launched prior to the trailer’s release, it looks like Furious 7 will honor his legacy in the Fast and Furious franchise. Hit the jump to read a synopsis and watch the trailer.

Fast and Furious 7 Paul Walker Vin Diesel Header Image

Vin Diesel clearly knows how to use social media to engage his fans and market his films. One film that will probably be the hardest to do is Fast and Furious 7. Because that film saw the tragic loss of Paul Walker, director James Wan was tasked with completing the film that would honor both Walker and the franchise itself. Somehow he managed to complete production, and now we wait until April 2015 to see if he got the job done.

But until then, Diesel will continue to push the film through his official Facebook page. Today he released a pair of new images from the film, but also tells his fans that he has seen the trailer and says that it is “incredible.” Hit the jump to read his full description and to see the full images.

New Agent 47 Rupert Friend

Almost one year ago it was reported that Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker would be playing Agent 47 in a new attempt at turning the hit video game series Hitman into a movie. Timothy Olyphant had previously tried his hand at the role, in a movie that ultimately underwhelmed.

Fans of the game were not very excited by the news that Walker was taking on the character next, but no one would have guessed at the time that less than a year later Walker would be gone. Now comes word that Fox has found their replacement for the late actor in the movie, which is titled Agent 47. According to reports, Rupert Friend has entered into negotiations for the role of the well-dressed assassin.

Chris Morgan Revising ‘Fast & Furious 7’ Script; Production Could Resume In January

Fast & Furious

Some what of an inevitability considering the precarious situation that Universal Pictures is in now. On one hand, the studio can scrap the entire film and have screenwriter Chris Morgan rewrite the Fast & Furious 7 script since Paul Walker tragically died in an accident last week. On the other hand, the studio could have Morgan revise it to give Walker’s Brian O’Connor character the proper send off, giving us one more chance to see the actor in one of his final performances – which is what fans want.

But the one thing on Universal’s mind is how they can approach this film and honor the memory of Walker. Universal does seem content on salvaging whatever footage can be used, since the film was nearly complete before the actor’s untimely death, and if they are satisfied with Morgan’s results, they can resume production as early as January. But that is a big if.
