‘Marvel’s Ant-Man’: The Complete Geeks Of Doom Timeline
|
|
What a long, strange trip it has been for Ant-Man, Marvel Studios’ latest entry in their constantly expanding cinematic universe. It had been in development for a decade before it went before the cameras, and by then the director who had been with the project since its inception had long departed due to the dreaded “creative differences.” This has probably been the most difficult baby for Marvel to birth since The Avengers, and when Ant-Man brings Marvel’s Phase Two line-up to a rousing conclusion this weekend, we’ll finally find out if the movie has proven to be worth the wait.
I decided to trace Ant-Man‘s obstacle-fraught journey from the pages of Marvel Comics to the big screen beginning when the visionary British filmmaker Edgar Wright first signed on to develop a live-action feature based on the character. From 2010 onward, the development will be recounted as it was covered by several writers here at Geeks of Doom over the years, myself included.

‘Ant-Man’ Trailer: “I Think Our First Move Should Be Calling The Avengers”
Marvel won’t be making any big marketing push for Ant-Man at Comic-Con this year, the film has already been getting some surprisingly great reviews. But the studio is bringing us one final trailer before the film’s release. As always, there is new footage to look at, as well as some familiar ones. But the trailer makes a point of acknowledging its existence within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, by asking those nagging questions about why aren’t some of the more qualified heroes there to help Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), and insulting those same heroes as well.
Check out the new trailer below.

The Japanese ‘Ant-Man’ Trailer Is The Best One Yet (Video)
The latest trailer for Peyton Reed‘s Marvel Studios superhero adventure Ant-Man has been released. It comes from Japan and features more action and humor than previous trailers.
You can check it out here below.
Just about every clip in this trailer is either new or slightly different from what Marvel has previewed for us in recent months. We get more clips of Paul Rudd getting miniature and kicking butt (and outrunning a massive flood….in a bathtub) and Corey Stoll‘s Yellowjacket being an evil bastard. Whoever cut this trailer for the Japanese market had the good sense to conclude it with the priceless train set gag from the first full U.S. trailer released back in April.

‘Ant-Man’: First Reviews Mostly Positive; Post-Credits Scenes “Each Better Than The Last”
Marvel Studios’ Phase Two closing blockbuster Ant-Man recently screened for critics after undergoing a very painful and potentially troubling birth, and the reviews – blessedly – are mostly positive.
Several noted online film writers took to Twitter to voice their opinion of the film. Here are a few of the more enthusiastic ones.
