‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’ NYCC Teaser: Caesar Gets Into A Different Kind Of Cold War
It goes without saying that studios who attend major Comic-Cons will be there with some footage of their upcoming tentpole films. While the San Diego Comic-Con is in a league of its own, the New York Comic-Con isn’t one to be overlooked. In the past few years, it has been making a name for itself, and with Lionsgate announcing that they will be presenting footage from John Wick: Chapter 2 and Power Rangers, it looks like audiences are in for some more geek goodness.
20th Century Fox is the latest studio to announce that they will be having a panel for their upcoming films as well. Now, they have unveiled the first look at War for the Planet of the Apes by releasing a teaser trailer at NYCC today. Check out the teaser here below.

If I told you I was seeing Planet of the Apes in theaters in 2016, you’d assume I was watching the third film in the new series starring Andy Serkis in motion capture technology as Caesar. Thanks to TCM and their Big Screen Classics promotion, the original 1968 classic is back in theaters for only one more day. It premiered on Sunday, July 24th, at several theaters throughout New York City, and I was there with my entire family, including my 5-year daughter.

Woody Harrelson Joins ‘War Of The Planet Of The Apes’
War of the Planet of the Apes recently added East Los High actor Gabriel Chavarria to the cast. The previous two films had some sort of human antagonist, with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes having one human villain and one ape villain. With the new cast it’s not entirely clear if Jason Clarke will be back to reprise his role, but with the film now focused on the war between the humans and the apes, director Matt Reeves is looking to cast new villains.
A new report says that Woody Harrelson (Zombieland, True Detective) has now joined the cast as a villain. More on the story after the jump.

‘War Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Finds New Human Lead
|
|
The reboot of the Planet of the Apes film franchise has been built around Caesar (Andy Serkis), the chimp who would help lead his fellow primates in a revolution against their human captors. Since the events of the first film, the Simian flu has nearly wiped out all of humanity, with a few remaining survivors building an immunity. However, tensions are still high as the some of the humans blame the apes for the spread of the sickness, and ultimately, an act of double cross from the ape faction combined with human hostility would lead to war against each other.
It wouldn’t be much of a Planet of the Apes without humans in it. James Franco and Jason Clarke played our human heroes in the last two films, and now War of the Planet of the Apes will be getting a brand new human lead.
New reports are confirming that East Los High actor Gabriel Chavarria will join the human faction in Matt Reeves‘ War of the Planet of the Apes. More on this story below.
