| Indiegogo Spotlight: ‘The Order’ Movie From Former ‘Power Rangers’ Stars |
 |

The 1st season of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers aired when I was in 1st grade, 22 years ago. For years, I made sure to watch each new iteration of the team, enamored by the colorful suits, the martial arts action, and the fact that young people were entrusted with saving the world. I haven’t watched a new season of Power Rangers in quite some time, but I do, however, follow many of the actors on social media — and for the past month or so, some interesting things have occurred. First, many of the original cast and others changed their Facebook profile images to an intriguing symbol. Next, they began posting cryptic messages and videos, hinting at some sort of joint project. Finally, just last week, the group (including 18 former Power Ranger actors), launched a crowdfunding campaign for a film called The Order. Oh, nostalgia, you’ve made your way back to me. I recently had the opportunity to interview some of the cast about the project and I’m really excited to share it with you all. You can find that and more below.

| Geek Peek: First ‘Power Rangers’ Image Shows Team In New Iron Man-Inspired Suits
The Power Rangers have been a fixture of children’s television since the early 1990s. Now, the long-running TV series is about to get a movie revival that reimagines the first team with a new look for our heroes and villains. Of course, when you go from TV to film, you tend to ditch the low-budget suits and upgrade with a higher budget, one that befits a film. That’s what we are getting in the first image of the five rangers: singer Becky G as Yellow Ranger Trini, Ludi Lin (Monster Hunt) as Black Ranger Zack, newcomer Dacre Montgomery as Red Ranger Jason, Naomi Scott (Lemonade Mouth) as Pink Ranger Kimberly, and RJ Cyler (Me And Earl And The Dying Girl) as Blue Ranger Billy. Check out the first image of the team here below.

| Elizabeth Banks To Play Rita Replusa In Lionsgate’s ‘Power Rangers’
Power Rangers is a film that is happening. After various TV iterations and reincarnations, network switches, and two live-action films, we are finally getting a new reboot with an all new cast. The principle story stays the same where five teenagers with attitude and skills are recruited by Zordon to stop an evil alien force from ruling the world. Now the five young recruits consist of a young and relatively unknown cast. But one of Lionsgate’s major goals was to cast an A-list star to attract fans of the franchise and generate new ones. The studio didn’t have to look too far as they have cast Elizabeth Banks to play Rita Replusa.

| ‘Power Rangers’: ‘Me And Earl And The Dying Girl’ Star & More Added To Cast
As expected, Dean Israelite has gone with relative unknowns to play the titluar heroes in Power Rangers. We saw a glimpse of who Israelite was looking at when they started testing for the roles of the five teenagers earlier this month. However, the only one to be confirmed from those testings so far is Naomi Scott (The Martian, The 33). Newcomer, Dacre Montgomery was also announced earlier this month as Jason the Red Ranger. Now two more actors will be receiving their power coins and morphers. The official Power Rangers Twitter account confirmed that Ludi Lin (Monster Hunt, Netflix’s Marco Polo) and Me and Earl And The Dying Girl star RJ Cyler will be joining the cast. Find out who they will be playing below.
