| Listen Now: Radiohead’s Unused James Bond ‘Spectre’ Theme Song |

Although it was a huge step down from the absolutely perfect quality of its predecessor Skyfall, I had a lot of fun with the latest James Bond adventure Spectre. I do have to admit that the opening credits sequence, a longtime staple of the franchise, had me almost rolling on the theater floor in hysterics due to its surprisingly perverse octopus imagery and Sam Smith‘s ridiculous and over-orchestrated main title song “Writing’s on the Wall.” Smith wasn’t the first choice of Spectre‘s producers and director Sam Mendes to perform the Spectre theme tune. Several artists were sought out for the job, one of them being the internationally-renowned British pop-rock band Radiohead. Early in the morning on Christmas Day, Radiohead’s lead singer and songwriter Thom Yorke confirmed the long-standing rumor via his Twitter. As a Christmas gift for their fans, Radiohead has released their unused contribution to 007’s latest cinematic mission, simply titled “Spectre,” which you can listen to here below.

A stylistic left turn away from the more pop-friendly tracks of The Bends and Pablo Honey, Radiohead‘s OK Computer may not be the best of the band’s albums, but it may well be their most important. Widely acclaimed and sonically diverse (though not as diverse or experimental as later works), OK Computer offers stand-out singles like the slow building “Lucky” and “Karma Police,” as well as several other expressive tracks that impress on first listen but make their full impact felt over time.

| Radiohead To Play ‘The Colbert Report’ For 1-Hour Special |

Talk about having some pull. Apparently Stephen Colbert is truly as cool as one would expect, as his show, The Colbert Report, will play host to iconic musical group Radiohead, for a special, one-hour-long show, on Monday, September 26. From 11:30pm to 12:30am, the band will play tracks from their latest album, King Of Limbs, including new and unreleased tracks.
