Remember Rush Hour 4? Yeah, it was once an unnecessary sequel that was talked about in some circles. However, plans for that fell through in the wake of the multiple sexual misconduct allegations against director Brett Ratner. But even that isn’t stopping the filmmaker from going around and shopping the sequel to others. There are reports saying Ratner is going around town saying he will return to direct Rush Hour 4. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. says there are no plans for that. More on the story below.

CBS has plans to bring two films to the small screen with TV adaptations for Limitless, the 2011 thriller starring Bradley Cooper, Robert DeNiro, and Abbie Cornish, and Rush Hour, the 1998 buddy cop actioner starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, according to The Wrap, which added that the network also recently ordered pilots for several other original series.

The Limitless TV drama will be a sequel to the film, which starred Cooper as Eddie, a struggling writer whose memory and intelligence is expanded after he takes a mysterious pill. With his enhanced brain power, Eddie goes right for personal gain, like finishing his book, winning his girlfriend back, and getting rich quick, but in the TV show, the character will reportedly use his abilities to help the FBI solve crimes. The project will be executive produced by Cooper, his Limitless director Neil Berger, and his Hangover director Todd Phillips, as well as produced by Relativity’s Ryan Kavanaugh and Tucker Tooley.

Taking popular movies from the past and reworking them as potential TV shows of the future is all the rage right now. A TV version of Beverly Hills Cop was in the works for a while but never played out. A show based on the ’80s movie Real Genius and the ’90s movie Problem Child were just recently announced. And who can forget the sports drama Necessary Roughness, which is based of course on the classic football comedy of the same name (wait, that can’t be right…).

Now comes word of a pair of new TV shows being developed that are based on hit movies. The first is based on the Tom Hanks classic Big, while the other will be based on the buddy cop movie Rush Hour, which starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.

One of the reasons why Rush Hour 3 couldn’t match its predecessors on a comedic level, is because a lot of the jokes seemed like they were rehashed, dated, or just pulled from the bin of unused Rush Hour jokes. So Arthur Sarkissian would like to alleviate that problem by making Rush Hour 4.

According to him, the fourth Rush Hour will be “more gritty.” Yes, the one word that almost everyone dreads when they hear filmmakers say it, has been brought up, and it’s for a Rush Hour sequel.

Fraker (Rosemary’s Baby); and critic Keith Uhlich. They will also refer back to a 2008 interview that they had with Marina Zenovich, director of the documentary Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired.
