Guns N’ Roses To Reunite To Headline Coachella 2016

The worst kept secret of the holiday season has finally been confirmed: Guns N’ Roses will be headlining the Saturday nights of the legendary Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and it will apparently be at least a partial reunion of the band’s most iconic lineup.
The headlining announcement was made on the evening of Monday, January 4, 2016, but did not come with the expected confirmation that the classic GnR lineup would be reuniting for the California music festival as had been rumored for months. The announcement was, however, closely followed up by the above image being displayed on the Axl Rose-led GnR Facebook page, which was then also posted to both guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan‘s respective social media sites.

$5 MP3 Album Deal: Guns N’ Roses ‘Appetite For Destruction’

As part of Amazon’s monthly $5 MP3 album deals, Guns N’ Roses‘s Appetite For Destruction is on sale in MP3 format for only $5. The CD is currently $8.49 and is an AutoRip, which means with the CD purchase you’ll also get a FREE MP3 download of the entire album.
This is the band’s debut album, released in 1987, and it happens to be one of the greatest hard rock records of all time! You absolutely know the songs “Welcome To The Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Paradise City,” – take my word as a rock goddess, you should own this album. My favorites on this one (and watch out, I feel like naming all 12 songs): “Rocket Queen,” “It’s So Easy,” “You’re Crazy,” “Out Ta Get Me,” “Anything Goes” – all amazing. Seriously, own this.

Classic Albums: Motörhead (Ace of Spades)
Netflix
DVD
Directed by Tim Kirkby
Starring Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Taylor, Eddie Clarke, Slash, Lars Ulrich
Eagle Rock Entertainment
Originally Released: April 27, 2005
"We weren’t even given credit as musicians. People thought we were fuckin’ wankers…"
– Eddie Clarke, Motörhead
There are many seminal albums that have stayed the course of the Metal genre over the years, but very few have reached across multiple genres becoming such a cornerstone in music history as Motörhead’s Ace of Spades. The 1980 release was hugely prominent in its day, but is perhaps more so as time goes on.
While their albums Overkill and Bomber put Motörhead on the map, it was Ace of Spades that catapulted them to international stardom (or notoriety). The band was led by the god known only as Lemmy, and joined by guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke and backed by Phil “The Animal” Taylor (responsible for the invention of using double bass drum in metal songs).

Music Review: Slash ‘Apocalyptic Love’
|
 |

Apocalyptic Love
Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators
CD | Deluxe CD | MP3 | Vinyl*
Label: Dik Hayd
Release Date: May 22, 2012
The musicians that made up one of America’s greatest rock bands of all time, Guns N’ Roses, have had problems finding their way after that band fell apart. Each of them has tried solo acts with varying degrees of success. Axl Rose, maintaining ownership of the band’s name, has even attempted a new album and tour with new musicians. The album that Rose crafted took many years to complete and it ended up being mediocre. Slash’s first attempt at creating a new band with some of his GN’R band mates was Slash’s Snakepit. The music featured Slash’s razor-sharp riffs, but it lacked the heart of GN’R at their best. Slash’s second attempt at building something with his GN’R buddies was a new band that featured Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots on vocals. While the lead singer of an alternative rock band doesn’t seem to make sense fronting a classic hard rock band, it really worked for the debut album. The music was truly modernized hard rock. After that fantastic release the follow up, with a different singer, was weak.

Amazon is at it again. They have another batch of 100 MP3 albums for $5 and this month it includes Slash’s 2010 solo album, Slash.
Nearly every track has a different lead singer. Current Slash band lead singer, the phenomenal talent of Myles Kennedy adds his vocal presence to “Back From Cali†and “Starlight.” There are some of Slash’s greatest songs on here: the Lemmy-growled “Doctor Alibiâ€, “I Hold On†with Kid Rock on fine don’t-even-want-to-punch-him form, and “We’re All Gonna Die†with the irrepressible Lord Iggy Pop.

Guns N’ Roses Guitarist Slash’s First Horror Flick Picked Up By Anchor Bay

Anchor Bay has acquired a movie titled Nothing to Fear, the first to be produced by Slasher Films, which was started by legendary Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash along with Rob Eric and Michael Williams.
The movie follows a family who makes that always dangerous horror movie decision to start fresh in a small town. This particular small town happens to be an actual town in Kansas called Stull. The town has about 20 residents and a decades old legend that one of the seven gateways to hell is located in its small cemetery, and that the Devil himself comes out to walk the Earth a couple of times a year there. Seeing as how it’s not likely you’ll bump into Satan hanging out in Kansas, it makes plenty of sense to bring the legend to life through film.
