| Sony Pictures Entertainment Puts ‘Searching 2’ Into Motion
The 2018 Sundance darling and summer indie hit Searching will be getting a sequel. The original film, starring John Cho and Debra Messing, centered on a father who was desperate to find her missing daughter. As the police investigation leads nowhere, the father turns to the only place that may lead to his daughter’s whereabouts, her laptop. This is great news for a film that deserved a lot more attention than it got. And the best thing about it is that writer/director Aneesh Chaganty, co-writer/producer Sev Ohanian, and producer Natalie Qasabian will all be back in their creative capacities to bring a sequel to audiences. | Phil Lord and Chris Miller Say Their ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ TV Spin-Offs Will Be “Really Special”
Phil Lord and Chris Miller are very adept at being able to give us entertaining material in all mediums from live-action to animation and even television. They are even more well-known for taking risks on projects that many deem to be failures. However, time and again, they have proven the skeptics wrong. As such, they have shown that they can give us hits by directing films like The LEGO Movie and Jump Street films. And of course, the two were also producers on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which won them their first Oscar for Best Animated Feature. That leads us to our next report. | ‘Brightburn’ Trailer: James Gunn Puts A Dark Twisted Spin On Superbeings Who Fall From The Sky
James Gunn will not be stopped. Although what happened to him this past summer was tragic, losing his place within the MCU, the filmmaker has picked himself up to give us a movie that he had been secretly producing for quite some time. And now we know what that film is. The first trailer for Brightburn was released over the weekend, and it teases of what happens when a bundle of joy from another world turns out to be a full-on nightmare.
