| Colin Trevorrow Wants His ‘Star Wars’ To Resonate With A New Generation |
 |

As a kid who grew up in between two generations of Star Wars, it was odd to see the stark difference between the two. Though each generation may have its fans, Star Wars will continue to tell stories of a galaxy far, far away. Two years ago, Star Wars: The Force Awakens started a new trilogy, and last year we saw the first spinoff of its kind in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Now with the impending release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, fans are not only interested in seeing what the future holds for Rey, Finn, and Poe, but also Luke Skywalker and General Leia. Of course, there are others who are looking beyond The Last Jedi. For Star Wars: Episode IX director Colin Trevorrow, he has his work cut out for him, as plans to have Leia in a more crucial role in his film had to be reworked when Carrie Fisher died last year. While it is still not clear what kind of role Leia would have had in the film, it appears that Trevorrow still wants to make sure that these films will resonate not only with current fans, but also new ones as well. Check out what he had to say below.

| ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ and ‘Episode IX’ Directors, Lucasfilm To Discuss Princess Leia’s Future
The tragic passing of Carrie Fisher hit everyone pretty hard last week. Not only was she a major figure of the Star Wars universe, she was also a writer and someone who was able to overcome the darkest parts of her life to become an inspiration. It’s insensitive to talk about what will happen to her Princess Leia character (she will always be royalty) now that she is gone, but here we are. There is a new report that says she was to have a larger role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII and Episode IX. Rian Johnson (director of Episode VIII) and Colin Trevorrow (director of Episode IX) are set to discuss how Leia will fit into the future of the franchise with Lucasfilm in the coming weeks. Check out the full report below.

| Lucasfilm President On The Future Of ‘Star Wars’ Saga and Spinoffs
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will pave the way for future Star Wars spinoffs. These films will focus on the untold stories that are considered legend within the universe. While there is excitement to see more Star Wars, there is also a little bit of anxiety as it is unclear what the future may hold for these spinoffs and what will happen beyond Episode IX. From what we know so far, Gareth Edwards‘ Rogue One will center on a group of rebels’ daring mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, while Christopher Miller and Phil Lord will direct a young Han Solo spinoff. As for the saga films, Rian Johnson is currently hard at work with the yet-to-be-titled Episode VIII, while Colin Trevorrow will be gearing up for Episode IX. After that, well, your guess is as good as ours.
