Earlier today we got our very first details for Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film will follow the early days of the roguish smuggler before he helped the Rebels in their cause to overthrow the Empire.

In what is being described as a “western crossed with a film noir, freighted with offbeat humor and set in the criminal underbelly of a galaxy being torn apart,” we are learning a little more about Han Solo, his motivations, and what kind of character he will become before we meet up with him at the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars: A New Hope. Whenever there is a big trailer for a film like Star Wars, you can be sure that some equally big news will follow. Many were worried about Solo: A Star Wars Story given that the lack of marketing is usually a sign of how bad the film is. However, the strategy behind that was that Disney and Lucasfilm wanted to avoid any overlapping confusion between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Solo may have. And now that The Last Jedi is out of the way, the marketing team is free and clear to push Solo until its Memorial Day weekend release.

Following the news that Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be writing and producing a new series of Star Wars films, Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that Disney will be developing “a few” Star Wars TV series for its own streaming service.

Last November, it was announced that the studio would be launching just one show. Now it appears that more are on the way. However, it’s not clear if these series will be related to the current saga that will conclude with the J.J. Abrams-directed Episode IX, the trilogy that Rian Johnson will be creating, or something completely original and new. More on the story below.

It’s been announced that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the creators, producers, writers, and sometimes directors of HBO’s Game of Thrones, have signed on to write and produce a series of new Star Wars titles.

Last night’s Super Bowl broadcast brought us the first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story, the highly anticipated Star Wars spin-off featuring a young Han Solo and Lando Calrissian.
