NYCC 2017: ‘Stargate’ Command Lounge & Photo Experience
Stargate has officially arrived at New York Comic Con, for the first time ever. In celebration of the fandom’s new digital platform and upcoming original series, Stargate Origins, the Stargate Command Lounge opened to fans at the convention. Geeks of Doom had an exclusive experience in the lounge and photo op, as well as a 1:1 demo at Command.

Comet TV Guide To June 2017 Movies & TV Shows
This month, COMET TV, which streams free sci-fi movies and television shows, is offering a bunch of movies and TV shows, including 1995’s The Prophecy and its first two sequels; 1980’s Motel Hell, two Halloween films, and the 1980 Mel Gibson classic Mad Max, and more, along with episodes of Stargate.
Next month, the network will be hosting a weekly Godzilla double-feature, as well as a July 4th “Invasion: Alien Attack Movie Marathon.”

Ray Harryhausen Movie Marathon Coming To Comet TV This Month
This month, COMET TV, which streams free scifi movies and television shows, is hosting a marathon of Ray Harryhausen films, including The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Jason and The Argonauts, and more.
The network will also be showing the 1986 classic Labyrinth, starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Troll, Troll 2, and more, along with episodes of Stargate SG-1 and Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Roland Emmerich To Direct New ‘Stargate’ For MGM, Warner Brothers
The Stargate franchise is ready for a return to the big screen with the announcement of a new re-imagining that’s being planned as a trilogy.
MGM and Warner Brothers have reached a deal with Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin for the reboot, with Emmerich directing and Devlin producing. The duo was also behind the 1994 original Stargate, which starred Kurt Russell and James Spader, in the same roles.

J.J. Abrams Takes Over Another ‘Star’ Franchise With ‘Stargate’ Reboot
Star Trek, Star Wars, and now”¦ Stargate!
J.J. Abrams, the powerhouse director with a passion for lens flare, has been tapped to take over Roland Emmerich‘s planned Stargate reboot. In an announcement that seems to have come out of nowhere, MGM stated in their official press release that, “If there was ever a director worthy of taking on such a vast and loved universe with an exponential amount of worlds to explore, it’s J.J. Abrams. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board.”
