| Patty Jenkins and Cara Delevingne Respond To Negative ‘Suicide Squad’ Reviews |
 |

By now you may have heard about the bad reviews surrounding Suicide Squad, and we will, of course, confirm that for ourselves (or at least myself) if it is truly as bad as critics make it out to be. But looking at the behind-the-scenes drama that has gone on (including the fact that there was two different cuts, one of which was made by a trailer company), the film looks to be continuing the DCEU’s slide down being a terrible shared universe franchise. Whether or not the film can save DCEU is up to the general audience. It is tracking for a $140 million opening, so that is something to look forward to but sources say it would have to gross at least $750-$800 million to break even. While these negative reviews aren’t doing the film or studio any favors, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and members of the Suicide Squad team such as stars Cara Delevingne and Margot Robbie and director David Ayer are responding to these criticisms and defending the film. But are they merely just campaigning for the film or do they genuinely have good things to say about the film. You decide for yourself below.

| ‘Suicide Squad’ Behind-The-Scenes Drama, Alternate Cuts, and Rushed Scripts
Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated Suicide Squad is tracking for a $140 million opening this weekend, despite advanced reviews that pan the newest DCEU film for having a confusing plot, a weak villain, and sloppy editing. It shouldn’t be a surprise that there is drama surrounding a DCEU film, considering that reshoots and other issues cropped up for WB’s Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice as well. Slowly we are beginning to see just how discombobulated everything is over at DCEU. Suicide Squad director David Ayer has come out to defend the product he will be giving us this weekend and has justified those studio-ordered reshoots. But now a new report is giving us a better sense of happened on set and the behind-the-scenes issues. More on the story below.

| ‘Suicide Squad’ Early Reviews Are In, and They Aren’t Kind; Director David Ayer Responds
This last weekend, a select group of journalists were invited to see Suicide Squad. The film from David Ayer was seen as the DCEU’s shining hope that shared universe isn’t as dismal or depressing as Man of Steel or Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. A lot of the marketing emphasized how much fun the film would be by combining the team’s camaraderie and use of classic songs like “Ballroom Blitz.” In fact, some hailed it as the DCEU’s version of Guardians of the Galaxy. Now the reviews are out, and they aren’t speaking highly of Suicide Squad. Ayer has also given out a swift response to these negative reviews. Check out excerpts from the critics who saw the film and Ayer’s response to those criticisms below.

| WB Hires Jon Berg, Geoff Johns To Oversee Future DC Movies |
 |

No matter how you look at it, Warner Bros.’ recent decisions have been a result of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s disappointing performance at the box office and less than warm critical reception. The studio will be releasing fewer films and focus on their blockbuster tentpoles. Creative differences forced Seth Grahame-Smith to leave The Flash, while reports said James Wan was “feeling tremendous amounts of trepidation” about directing Aquaman. Wan sent out a comforting tweet reassuring fans he was still on board the project. Despite the rumors that if BvS didnt’ meet certain box office expectations, WB would have moved forward with other DCEU solo features, the studio marches on with the production of Justice League, and going as far as naming Ben Affleck as an executive producer. He continues “to be supportive of Snyder” and that he’ll work with Snyder and screenwriter Chris Terrio “to make the film the best it can be.” But it appears as though the changes are not over, as WB is now going to mirror their competitors by creating a brain trust to oversee the DC Extended Universe. More on the story below.
