| ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Trailer: Han Is In The Smuggling Life Forever
LucasFilm has dropped the second trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film, which is the second Star Wars spinoff to be released, will center on a young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) who goes on a galactic adventure and befriends Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), while also detailing how the nerf-herder came into possession of the iconic Millennium Falcon. The one thing I am fascinated about with HBO’s Westworld is its use of piano ballad cover songs. Sure the mystery of the world and the sci-fi elements have their intrigue, but the music and how it’s woven into the narrative is much more fun to figure out and break down. So when you hear something like Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” play in the newest trailer for the upcoming second season, you have to wonder, why did they use that song. | ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Reshoots Detail Troubled Production
Solo: A Star Wars Story has been dogged by rumors of a troubled production since Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the film’s original directors, were axed from the film due to creative differences. Then Ron Howard came in to finish the remainder of the production. Interviews with the cast and crew tried to ease some of the concerns fans about upcoming Star Wars spin-off. And the trailer has garnered mixed reactions, at best. Now there is a new report from the inside that is bringing back some very bad memories. An actor close to the production of Solo says there was plenty of drama with the directors, confirms that title star Alden Ehrenreich needed an acting coach, and how the reshoots may have helped the production but not the final cut of the film. With the return of HBO’s Westworld coming sometime in April, fans of the smash hit show crowded the Austin Convention Center ballroom during SXSW 2018 in hopes that its stars and showrunners might offer hints of what’s to come. And they weren’t disappointed. The panel was moderated by WIRED’s Jason Tanz, who introduced showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and stars Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores Abernathy), Thandie Newton (Maeve Millay), James Marsden (Teddy Flood), and Jeffrey Wright (Bernard/Arnold) to the stage.
