Disney continued to show off their impressive line up of titles that will be available exclusively on their subscription-based streaming service, Disney+. Investors got to see a small glimpse and learn some details about some of the upcoming Star Wars titles that will appear on the service later this November. More on all of this here below.

Almost a year ago it was announced that the popular Cartoon Network animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars was being cancelled, and that a new animated series was being planned. The new series was later revealed as Star Wars Rebels, which will begin airing on Disney XD in the fall of this year (watch the teaser trailer here).

It seemed as if we had heard the last of The Clone Wars, but not so fast. Out of nowhere, it has been announced that a sixth and final season of the series is still on the way.

While many fans are mourning with the winding down of The Clone Wars animated series, Star Wars fans can still delve into the wealth of expanded universe material that focuses on the famous conflict that dominated an era of the in-universe history, and saw the rise of an empire.

And as we advance into a new epoch in which the sequel trilogy will dominate our attentions, Dark Horse seems to be also beginning to wind up their Clone Wars coverage, with the release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Defenders Of The Lost Temple.

Just recently we heard that Tim Curry was joining the cast of Cartoon Network’s animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. But alas, things often change…and change quickly.

Lucasfilm has announced that their acquisition by Disney and the focus on the new trilogy of movies starting with Star Wars Episode VII has led them to the decision that they will no longer be producing new episodes of The Clone Wars for Cartoon Network. They are, however, working on a brand new animated series that will be set in uncharted waters.

Tim Curry, the star of such movies as Ridley Scott’s Legend, Stephen King’s It, Clue, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has officially joined the cast of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Curry takes over the role of Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious after the passing of the role’s previous voice actor, Ian Abercrombie, over a year ago.
