Directed by Todd Phillips, The Hangover Part III picks up two years after the events of Part II. Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and Doug (Justin Bartha) are living peaceful lives at home with their families.

As for Alan (Zach Galifianakis), the Wolfpack’s own personal Fat Jesus is in need of an intervention after the sudden death of his father (Jeffrey Tambor). Who better than his three best friends to take him to New Horizons, a mental health treatment facility in Arizona, to get his life together.

Meanwhile, Leslie “Chinese Nuts” Chow (Ken Jeong) escapes from a Thai prison in a scene straight out of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. The Wolfpack’s trip to Arizona is derailed by a run-in with a drug kingpin named Marshall (John Goodman) and his henchmen, including “Black Doug” (Mike Epps) from the first film. Marshall demands the guys find and bring him Mr. Chow, who double-crossed him, keeping “White Doug” as collateral.

John Goodman

John Goodman is a jack of all trades kind of actor. He can play a dad, a hero, a villain, a drunk, almost anything actually. Now the actor has signed on for a small cameo role in The Hangover Part III. Cameos have become a staple in The Hangover franchise. Mike Tyson and Nick Cassavetes both had cameos in the respective Hangover films. Director Todd Phillips even tried to reel in Mel Gibson and Liam Neeson for a couple of cameo roles, to no avail though.

Variety reports that Goodman will have a “small role as an antagonist.” If anything, Goodman’s screen time will be small, but he’s sure to have a comedic impact in the film.

The Hangover Header

Las Vegas and Bangkok aren’t the only places with an ample supply of booze and hookers. Tijuana also has these debaucherous amenities readily available for those who don’t want to spend too much on alcohol and sex, and that’s where the Wolf Pack will be heading to in The Hangover Part III.

The Film Stage (via Toronto Sun and Las Vegas Sun) has reported that while the film will be shot in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, the cast and crew will eventually head south of the border. The site also confirms that the story will focus on Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms trying to break Zach Galifianakis out of a mental institution.

The Hangover

At the moment, The Hangover: Part III is not officially happening yet. But considering the amount of money the first two installments made ($467.4 million and $581.4 million worldwide, respectively) and word from director Todd Phillips and now star Bradley Cooper, it’s no great stretch to assume we’re going to have at least one more Hangover.

Phillips is currently working on a script for the trilogy-maker, and, according to Cooper, the hope is that filming can begin by September.
