One man’s dabbling in filmmaking is another man’s treasure. We live in such a privileged age, where we can exchange information almost as quickly as we can create ideas in our head. Could you imagine a world without YouTube? It is hard to believe that nearly a decade ago that this was far from reality. Luckily for us, we can surf the web for funny videos, everything from piano-playing cats to giggling babies. Many can agree on one common search as entirely entertaining: the ever-popular Disney spoof or parody. Whether the creators are teenagers or professionals, almost everyone offers an ounce of creativity in poking fun at the fantastic world of the Mouse.

In this edition of Disney In Depth, a new recurring feature on the column, check out some of the latest and funniest Disney-themed web videos.

Welcome to another edition of Disney In Depth! This week, in honor of Disney-Pixar’s most recent feature, Brave, I will be focusing on some of the best elements of Pixar’s films: funny characters. They evoke a laugh or two during perilous scenes, and manage to make us smirk when a situation seems far from humorous. These are the funniest of the bunch, offering a witty quip or inspiring a gag. This animation studio is known for developing deep characters, in both their personalities and designs. Thanks to Pixar’s brilliant team of writers and the talented voice artists who made these images into fully-fleshed individuals, we have a bunch of characters to root for and giggle along with. Here are the ones I find as most hilarious.

We all have our favorite superheroes: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and so on. We watch them in movies and television shows and read about them in comic books and we’ve been doing this for decades. These superheroes continue to fight crime and bring about justice decade after decade, to the point where we can’t imagine our popular culture without them.

But what if there were real-life superheroes — people with super powers, who could fly or have super strength or invisibility? And what if one day, those superheroes we love and have come to rely on were forced to retire forever?

That’s the premise of writer/director Brad Bird‘s The Incredibles, the 2004 Disney/Pixar CG-animated film, where “Supers” must hide their extraordinary abilities from the public after a law is passed banning super heroics, forcing these superhuman do-gooders to live ordinary lives.

Well here we go again with a brand new story arc in the wonderful ongoing series based off a Pixar movie The Incredibles. If you haven’t been reading the series up to this point don’t get too uptight because you will be able to jump on with this issue. The fact that you can jump onto this story arc with each new arc is definitely a plus, especially since it is meant for the younger audience and it would be harder to expect them to go back and read everything that has happened up to this point. As always Landry Walker‘s writing is very fluid and easy to follow.

Well at this point in the story we find out a couple things. There is a crime committed to set the mood for the book in who The Incredibles will be dealing with this arc. We also see that it is time for Violet to get a job because she needs to be responsible like the adult she says she is. The most exciting story point that I want to see more of is that Dash is now going to begin his training. Mr. Incredible makes it sound mysterious and dangerous, but hopefully we will see for ourselves.
