The digital deal of the day is over at Amazon today is The Last Airbender, the film by M. Night Shyamalan, which is available for rental for only $.99.

This deal is valid only for today, Monday, January 24, 2011, until midnight PST. Once you activate the rental through Amazon’s Video On Demand service, you’ll have access to the movie for 48 hours. If you’re interested in purchasing the digital version, the cost is $9.99.

Also, if you’d like to own a physical copy of the movie, the Blu-ray Combo Pack is available for $27.99 while the DVD is $16.99.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray editions of The Last Airbender are part of Amazon’s “Buy This DVD and Watch it Instantly” program. That means with the purchase of either version, you will be able to watch the movie instantly through Amazon’s Video On Demand (see more details about this below). Basically, it’s like getting a free digital rental while you wait for your physical copy to arrive.

The Video On Demand deal of the day over at Amazon today is Glee Season 1 for only $9.99.

Note, this deal is valid only for today (Tuesday, December 28, 2010) until midnight PST.

For the discounted price, you get all 22 episodes of Season 1 of the popular FOX television series Glee. Episodes are typically $.99 each, so you’d be saving over half the cost if you buy it today; through On Demand without commercials, the episodes are around 45 minutes each.

Amazon has a promotion right now — Tweet and Get $5 — where you can get $5 in Video On Demand credit, so you can use this credit toward the purchase of Glee Season 1 if you choose.

Glee Season 1 is currently available through Video On Demand in HD for $21.79 (or $.99 per episode). The DVD version is also on sale for $14.99, while the is Blu-ray is $44.99.

One reporter during a press conference in Mexico City decided to stand up and ask the director — with the utmost professionalism, I might add — what we’ve all wanted to ask him. Shyamalan didn’t take it so well.
