| ‘The Wheel Of Time’: Rosamund Pike Set To Star In TV Series Based On Robert Jordan’s Books
The first casting for Amazon’s The Wheel of Time, a live-action TV series adaptation of author Robert Jordan‘s book series of the same name, has been confirmed. It’s being reported that Rosamund Pike, the Oscar nominated star of Gone Girl, The World’s End, 2005’s Pride & Prejudice, Hostiles, A Private War, and much more, will star in the series. She’ll be playing the show’s central character, an Aes Sedai named Moiraine.

For anyone who missed the news, it was reported recently that Amazon has ordered The Wheel of Time, a new series based on the Robert Jordan book series of the same name. While exciting news for fans, they will no doubt take it with a massive grain of salt. Adaptations of Jordan’s book series have been in the works for a very long time, including a movie adaptation at Universal a decade ago. But things haven’t worked out, for a variety of reasons including legal complications. Will this be the one?

The premise was a simple one, but as I read further into the books, they became far more intricate and seemed to expand beyond my wildest dreams. | New Obsidian Entertainment Project Teased; Is It ‘Fallout 4’? ‘Dungeon Siege 4’? A ‘Wheel Of Time’ Game? |
Obsidian Entertainment, the RPG video game developer behind titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, Neverwinter Nights 2, Dungeon Siege III, Alpha Protocol, Fallout: New Vegas, and the highly anticipated upcoming South Park: The Stick of Truth, has released a super tease of their next project, leaving us to guess wildly at what it might be. The first tease, which you can see above (click to go big), arrived yesterday and shows the number 4 encircled by some kind of dragon-like creature eating its own tail. The number 4 is what jumped out to people right away, leading many to think it has something to do with Dungeon Siege 4 considering the tease has a distinctive fantasy feel to it. Another popular thought is that it’s for Fallout 4. But now another tease has been released that shakes things up slightly. | Robert Jordan’s ‘Wheel Of Time’ Series To End In 2013 With ‘A Memory of Light’ |

If you’ve been waiting for a release date for the final volume of the popular fantasy series, Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time, your waiting has come to an end. Tor Books, the publisher of the series, has revealed that A Memory of Light will be released on January 8, 2013. The last book in the series is written by Brandon Sanderson, working from extensive notes, outlines, and some finished script by original series writer Robert Jordan. This final novel brings the series to an end almost 23 years after the first volume, The Eye of the World, was released on January 15, 1990. The Wheel of Time is one of the most popular fantasy series of the last quarter century, with thirteen novels and more than 44 million copies sold. The series has spawned a prequel novel, a comic book series, role-playing games, and a host of other merchandise, as well as a rabid fan base who have been waiting for decades to read the end of the saga.
