| The Digital Wire Blu-ray/DVD Release News: When The Levee Breaks…
This week’s edition of The Digital Wire has so much Blu-ray and DVD release info coming out of its news-hole only a dam constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers could contain the flood. Soak it all up folks because I’m taking next week off to cover the home video department of Geeks of Doom’s annual Holiday Geek Gift Guide. | Asa Butterfield May Star In Tim Burton’s ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’
Director Tim Burton has found the actor he wants to play the character Jacob Portman in his upcoming adaptation of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. No official offer has been made yet but reports are that Burton wants Asa Butterfield to take on the role. In the book, Jacob Portman is a 16-year-old boy who seeks to find the truth about his grandfather’s past after he’s murdered, and finds himself at a home where children with special abilities live and are watched over by their guardian Miss Peregrine (who will be played by Eva Green in the movie). While there he learns of monsters known as the “hollows,” which only he can see, leaving him to protect the peculiar children.

| First Trailer For Tim Burton’s ‘Big Eyes’ Is Here
The first trailer for Big Eyes, the latest film from director Edward Scissorhands and Big Fish director Tim Burton, has been released by The Weinstein Company. The movie stars Academy Award nominee Amy Adams as artist Margaret Keane, whose paintings of children with large eyes became popular in the ’50s and ’60s…though it was her husband Walter (played by two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz) who claimed to be the creator of the distinctive artworks. | Eva Green In Talks For Tim Burton’s ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, 300: Rise of an Empire and Penny Dreadful actress Eva Green has entered into negotiations to star in Tim Burton‘s next project, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. The movie is based on the book of the same name from author Ransom Riggs, which follows a 16-year-old boy who, after a family tragedy, finds himself trying to help protect a group of orphans with special abilities from creatures known as “hollows.” Green would play the title character, Miss Peregrine, who watches over the orphans.
